I was raised downriver from Detroit, and the city has been on the decline for 50 years. I can't go back 110 years. Urban blight set in, and I would never go into Detroit especially at night. If it weren't for the Red Wings and Tigers there is no reason to mention I am from Detroit.. No amount of money could be thrown at those people to make them change. My sister was a teacher in the Detroit public schools and she said those kids are unteachable.
