There was no shifting of responsibility. The cops were responsible for not doing something stupid from the moment they entered the room of a 95 year old invalid. Cops aren't supposed to treat small children and the very elderly the same way they do able-bodied adults. They fucked it up royally.
Some cranky, senile old man gave them lip and maybe swung his cane (in slow motion, no doubt) and some steroid-laced bully decided to assert his "aw-thaw-itay" will a beanbag from a shot gun. He was so frail the bean bag ruptured his internal organs and killed him. THAT is how weak and frail this old man was. The most dangerous thing about that old man was the contents of his diaper.
And yet, the idiot cop could not just reach out and grab the cane? Is that what I am supposed to believe?

He took care of her and her mother for 30 years. I think she qualifies as "off-spring" even if she doesn't literally meet the definition.

It is kind of difficult to evaluate it before it occurs, don't you agree?
When else are we supposed to evaluate a police action? Was there a point to this?

Oh, but I DO have the facts, don't I? He was 95 years old, sufficiently feeble that he has to be put in a nursing home, required a walker and/or cane to get around, and, oh yeah, was so frail a bean bag ruptured his guts and he bled to death.
Or do you dispute any of those facts?
Now on the OTHER hand, what possible facts can the police introduce to justify using force on him? If he has a gun, I would say THAT was more then sufficient to justify using bullets on him, not just a bean bag. But the cops haven't even hinted at that, have they?
No, apparently threatening them with his cane is the best they can do.

Oh is that what this is? You think I blame the cops because I'm trying to be a bad ass outlaw so I can get a discount?
Really?
It couldn't possibly be because I find it horrific the way the old man died?
