I have been working for quite some time and I have noticed over the years that in my civi life, guys that try to pursue me and try to get in my pants like a normal guy are getting shot down more and more. Now I am to the point where it is damn near impossible. I am pretty much saving myself for marriage. Weird huh? I am half whore, half preacher's daughter.

I have seen this a lot lately. Some more seasoned women (not by age but experience..) seem to be setting a high bar for dating/mating.

On the surface this appears to be good right? Wait for the "right" guy and don't bother with the rest.

But... what about Mr Almost right? what about the awkward less polished gent who "might" become a Mr. Right? In my experience these guys also go down in flames to the withering fire of a high standards lady.

If I may be so bold I would say that it's worth the risk to try a few more frogs while searching for a prince. Guys do it... we call it old stand by or spring training.

Sorry but if you're looking for marriage someday you're going to have to be open about your previous provider lifestyle. Trust me if you don't tell him he will find out as you are well known in the DFW area. If he is not judgemental he won't judge you and look at you in a different light but to be completely honest I don't know many guys including myself that would marry an ex provider, hooker, escort or whatever the PC term is these days. When you're past your hobby prime which unfortunately for an AA female is late 30s and find yourself not married you're going to look back at the chances you missed out on normal guys and "normal" dating practices. The old saying is so true, you can't turn a whore into a house wife and those that have tried have failed miserably.

I've heard the hobbying lifestyle can become addictive both from the provider side $$$$$ and client side. How do women that have made a name for themselves and garner a significant clientele retire when they've become accustomed to making $2,000-8,000/month on the "side"?

Hmmm... well I have basically taken myself off the market because of what I do for work. I find that dating someone and being honest about what I do ends up biting me in the ass. It seems that no man is willing to deal with a woman in any aspect if this profession. Even when I transition into a "normal" job my past will haunt me and that "cant turn a hoe into a housewife" saying is exactly what all men truly believe regardless of how I am in my personal life. It is sad there is a double standard since many of the clients are married and dont feel they dont deserve a SO. My job is my job and I enjoy what I do and it is the best way to get me where I want to be in my life but from my experience it seems that I have subjected myself to a life of solitude. Its a bummer but I am already in it and I guess it is what it. As far as making a man work harder for it I guess I agree.

I don't see how a provider could manage a regular relationship outside of the hobby. What if the guy wants to do regular dating activities? Go out out dinner, movies, concerts, hanging out in group outings, maybe a quick weekend getaway. How many lies and accuses do you come up with? Some women make the decision that they would rather make the $200-400 in an hour than spend that with a guy (that doesn't pay for her time) they may or may not be with 3 months from now.

LOL obviously nurseguy thinks that a working girl doesnt do regular things like go to movies or go on vacations. I have a work schedule and have free time. Somehow I keep the urge to massage under control when out in public. Its hard but I manage.
