And consider the "reason" they articulate, may indeed have nothing to do with their true reason. (If you somehow remind a lady of her "funny uncle", doubtful she will tell you that is the reason she won't see you.) Believe it or not, I have had 2 providers in 7 years refuse to see me. I did not take it personal, nor did I push for an answer. To do so would simply make her uneasy and do nothing positive for either of us.

And then again, it might not. Not that you said this, but I find it humorous when men talk about "my money is just a good as the next guy's". While the hobby may be business, it is far from a standard business transaction.
If a lady has boundaries/limits/restrictions/preferences (who doesn't) I prefer to make no issue of it. She has every right. Just as we have every right to have our boundaries, limits, restrictions and preferences.
