Your saliva does process the fluoride to help your teeth, digest your food, break it down, kill germs,save your gums, and a host of other functions. I lost my lower salivary glands in mid 90s to radiation and I have to compensate with supplements .So I learned the hard way. Not sure about others' saliva though.
