I noticed that you're a moderator, and I also saw a link to ECCIE forum guidelines in your signature. I just read through the first 5 of them and was aghast about the example that you're setting with your abusive conduct toward a member.

You also went off on blowpop on another thread and he questioned if you had the proper temperament for a moderator. Another moderator (non Houston) jumped to your defense. I was surprised at your conduct in that thread, but put if off to you having a bad day. Also, you more or less apologized later in that thread.

Now this post...................maybe blowpop was correct about your temperament.

Perhaps at 56 years old 'gramps' views things in a different manner. I always thought moderators were supposed to the 'voice of reason' and set an example for others with their postings. This being said, if a moderator can go off on others, as you've done here, you send out a message to others that if a moderator can go off on others, then the regular members can also go off on others.

It makes the link of ECCIE forum guidelines in your signature nothing but a big joke.

Just as I told blowpop in that other thread, I'm not a moderator in Houston. And even so, moderators are no different than regular board members with the only exception being our voluntary agreement with the board owners to help enforce the forum guidelines.

In addition, I think because you and blowpop don't like me, you read things in my posts that aren't there and make yourself "aghast". Where did I insult blowpop? At worst I called him longwinded -- hardly anything to become "aghast" over.

All that aside, if you have a problem with any of my posts, hit the RTM button and let the staff do their job. Unless all you want to do is call me out and complain. In that case, knock yourself out.

You say censor, I say set an example. By the way, as long as you're a moderator, you should be held to higher standards than us regular members. You're a part of board management, you have rites (edit function, give/remove points, possibly the rite to ban members, etc.) that us everyday members don't have.

Yea, like any of your other moderator buddies will post something in the public forums about your abusive attitude. No doubt there is a moderator only forum where you guys can discuss things and maybe someone will say something there, but no way will they say anything in a public forum about your conduct as a moderator.

#1 - Avoid cases of unprovoked rudeness to others. No place for it here...........

#3 - Disrespect to others, IN GENERAL, will be considered an item of low tolerance, especially when posting in our coed forums................

#4 - Blatant insults or hostility toward another member will be met with staff intervention. This applies to using our coed forums for name calling, personal attacks.................

I don't read the rudeness toward another member, hostility or insults, but I'm obviously biased since I wrote it and I know what I intended. I was disrespectful of his list and gave my characterization of his board ethos, but wasn't insulting or rude to him.

You know DJ i read and re-read this post numerous times and yet I fail to see where he directly insulted someone. No where in the post does he aim a direct insult towards blowpop......there was no name calling so i ask how exactly is it that he directly insulted the member? Was it because he disagreed with his list and used vulgarity to express himself?


Tone via text is always subject to the readers interpretation and from experience ill tell you that if you read it with a hostile voice you'll more than like to fool yourself.

1. We try to avoid announcing any business between staff and any member in our public forums.
2. Ender will quickly tell you that you're 100% correct, we will call things out if we see them.

The language may be strong, but it is well withing board guidelines. Ender is not a Mod he is a regular member with no authority or special privileges in the Houston forums. The admins like to allow people to feel free to express their opinions and he has done so there.....like I said, you may not like his presentation of but he has every right to post just as you do. If and when he crosses that line, we in the Houston staff will take care of it.
