When Is a Special NOT a Special Anymore??
I have been cruising the numerous boards, and I keep seeing a certain trend. Many girls are advertising specials whether it be for incall or outcall, to gain clients, or simply keep clients. I personally don't see anything wrong with running a special. But I'm highly confused by the fact that some ladies are ALWAYS running specials even on a weekly basis. As a hobbyist, what is your take on weekly specials by the same provider? Ladies please feel free to chime in....I value your opinion as well.

I don't think that there's anything wrong with offering specials either. But, I DO think there comes a certain point where the frequency of a special turns it into an expectation. Some guys will even wait around for a lady to post another special because they just know it's coming. Running specials can be a VERY slippery slope, and doing so can end up forcing a lady's hand when it comes to the way she's running her business if she's not careful. If a lady is ALWAYS running specials, it may end up being looked at as her regular rates.

I honestly like to see it. Any time I see a provider post I know she is active and likely to respond to a pm. Especially when I have a quick turn around. One thing I do hate is the "I am running a special at the exact rate I have listed on my profile for the last year."
Not saying every special has to be half off but why not so us it will be something different. "I want to focus on my oral skills this week. Full menu still open but my focus is DT this week" or something if you are not offering a discount.

I like all the going out of business sales. Those are probably my favorites. There are times I think oriental carpet salesmen could learn some lessons.

A special per say is a special only if a guy is willing to partake in it. If it's not really a special a guy will probably pass on it. I like to see providers come out in there ads and let us know they are sill around and promote new pics if nothing else. Yes new nipple pics and taint pics would be special to see as well. I love it when they do the mind fuck thing, that always makes things special. A mind fuck is a terrible thing to waste......just my special 2 cents worth...

I agree. If you run a special every week, it is no longer a special. I also think it makes the lady in question look needy and as if her business is slow. It's like the "going out of business" specials that business' have, but 4 months later, they are still in business ... I will run a special about once a quarter ... that way it really is a "special"

It is a marketing ploy. It makes the guy feel like he is getting a good deal when in reality, he's paying the same price regardless. I make no judgment on whether a girl looks needy or not based on the frequency of her "specials". It is what it is.

I'm one of those weirdos. If a girl runs a "small" special (especially if I was going to see her anyway), I always give her the regular rate.
To me it feels like the girl is cheapening herself when she runs a special, and I don't like to see that, so I pay the regular rate.
That doesn't mean I don't partake in multi-hour discount rates. I do. In fact I expect them. But, that would be listed in her regular rates.
And that doesn't mean if I see her, and she offers a regular rate for repeat visits, I won't partake in it, because at that point we are agreeing to a "long range" pricing scheme arrangement.

I think when they are timed properly, a special achieves its goal of promoting a special.
I understand this is a right place, right time environment, but when I start to see concurrent postings by local providers on a repeated basis, I tend to question the intent behind the special.
It's a fine line between creating brand recognition/promoting and coming across as desperate.
Too often I see providers lower their rates and I am left to wonder if their net profits have actually noticed a significant increase.
The economy is tough across the board in all business segments, but you don't see the high end options (e.g. Audi, The Hilton, Apple) lowering their prices.
Instead they have been able to at least make the customer feel as though they are receiving more value and still charge a premium rate. While the competition is forced to offer specials at a lower rate.
How is the value received from the provider better at a discounted special rate?
What type of customers are you targeting? One and done or are you looking to create repeat, loyal customers with disposable income?
Arghhhhhh I wish more providers would run their operations like a business (insert providers name here) Inc.
It does not matter if this is a one, three, five, or ten year plan!!!

I do run specials mostly around major holidays but with specials they need to come with an ending date
