Honesty?
I suppose this is more of a question for the gents. Do you prefer your providers to entertain you with stories of their alter-ego (ie. I go to college, I don't have kids, I'm a sex addict. When in reality they're doing this full-time, have at least three kids and isn't a sex addict in the slightest) or do you appreciate a provider who is herself and actually answers questions honestly?
I hope that made sense! I was brought up to be honest about things, no matter what. Am I missing out by not putting on more of a "show?" I know gentlemen pay money for this show, but do they really want to be put on when paying that kind of cash?
I think I'll label myself the "Honest Escort--YMMV regarding my words." ;-)

Honesty is good, but I don't need to know everything about the gals I see. What I want is honesty in approach, good service, and an honest appreciation when I provide a good experience as well as receive one. I don't need to be flattered or cajoled; I try to be straightforward in how I approach things and appreciate when that is reciprocated.

I will be a little selfish her. When I am with a provider, I like it to be mostly about me. I like the girl asking me about me and especially what I like. I've made some great friends here in the hobby, but when it all boils down, I am paying for a service and to be serviced. I don't need the college student/sex addict story. I just want to have a good time and to be well taken care of. Luckily, I have found providers that excel in this area!

I think its great that you want to share your life with the guys Layne. But, us ladies need to be careful about what we share and who we share it with, just please keep yourself safe. You never know who could turn out to be psycho. I had a long time client with whom I shared a little of my life to....after a year into our business relationship, he went psycho. I had to move because of him.....get a restraining order. He ended his marriage because he thought we'd be together and I never asked him to nor gave him the impression that we would be together.
I like sharing parts of my life with people, but no one will ever know the whole story of my life. They don't need to. As TRex said, the guys are paying for a fantasy and we should give it to them. No sob stories, down on your luck stories.....during the time period they pay for, life should be peachy.
The above statement is MY opinion only and I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do or how to spend your money or control your actions.

While I agree that the fantasy is what makes this intriguing for me, given the nature of this hobby, a little honesty mixed in is key. It can engender some trust in a world where that is not always easy to come by (see BP). Sure, I want it to be about me, but the rest of the time, I need to know my fantasies and desires will remain between us and who we choose to share it with (references, etc).

Mostly honesty but I don't need to know the nitty-gritty of your life. I won't ask and you needn't tell.

I should have been more clear. I don't ever voluntarily give the details of my personal life to any client. However, it seems lately that a couple of them have been hell-bent on finding out what they are. I would prefer to not talk about myself at all. I agree with the statement that it IS all about the client because he's the one buttering my bread. One client analyzed every word I said during our pillowtalk, it was asinine. I will never understand why some hobbyists just can't enjoy the experience.
So, to re-word my question. When someone starts analyzing you/the experience, do you make up a cockamamie tale, be honest or both? :-)
Just something to think about.

Layne,
I once had a therapist (yes, a therapist) tell me, that when people ask you information about yourself, you are welcome to tell them anything that you like. I thought it was great advice and I have never forgotten it. Not sure if I've answered your question, or not, but in your situation (which still is a bit vague), tell them anything you like!

Nice! Was it an actual therapist or the rapist? (Sorry, I sometimes quote SNL Celebrity Jeopardy!) :P
"I'll take 'The Rapists' for $400, Alex."
"For the last time, that's 'Therapists'."

Ha! Fortunately, for me, since it was a male, it was all one word: Therapist. I remember one with a "John Travolta" and it was the clue was "Miso" and he said "Miso horny" LOL

Miso horny aside, the issue of honesty is a matter of personal choice, judgments regarding discretion, and a clear understanding of the nsa nature of the relationship. In my humble experience, less is more...more respectful, and less dangerous.
...and Elena, I wasn't psycho! LOL

I'll throw in a little about myself but i'm honestly interested in hearing more about him (yes it's time we are spending together but it's HIS time).....but if he asks I don't hide much unless he asks my real name or something.
