I was a waitress for years... In the restaurant community a #TIP is defined as ~To Insure Proper Service...
Over the years In this profession have experienced a decrease in tips... But I have a friend that is a bartender and she said the same thing. I personally feel as though it should be customary. If you go to a nice restaurant and have a wonderful meal with excellent service you are inclined to tip. I feel companionship is on the same level...

Tipping in the hospitality business (restaurants, hotels, cabs, etc.) is expected and wages are adjusted accordingly.
If you are independent, I assume that you set your prices where you need them to be. I don't haggle and I don't tip, unless my perception is that the value is so good that it deserves more than the agreed upon price.

My late Grandfather told me once to "never ask for a tip and don't ever turn one down"
If I have a date set up and a tip is involved I prefer to share that info before or shortly after we get started. I dunno...it just makes sense to me..

I am much more likely to tip someone who is working for someone else, than someone who is the owner of their own business.
A legit massage from a spa/studio employee -- she gets a tip
A legit massage from an independent -- she gets her rate
I will rarely tip an independent escort, unless he goes *well* above the call of duty. Some things that would cause me to offer a tip would be:
1) opening up her menu beyond what I know is her norm
2) going over time without stopping the session
3) being extremely flexible about scheduling
4) offering a special rate but still delivering top-notch service

You got it down perfectly I feel. For an independent provider, the rate is the rate, and I would only tip if one of the 4 things you mention happen. Ladies - is "working" for a tip by doing one or more of these things something you think about and actively do?

Are you really asking if providers want you to give them more money? lol. Fucks for bucks! Money is a reason, if not THE reason (I'd vouchsafe to say) they are in the biz. I've never heard of a provider going... "no no no... i don't want you to tip me, please.... keep that extra $50, you need it more than me" heh.
I tip if I might have to ask for change (LOL). If a provider goes above and beyond what I expected, I certainly will tip if I have it available. HOWEVER, generally I walk into a meeting with ONLY the amount I need to cover the appointment, just in case, better safe than sorry... etc...
I refuse to give tips if the girl gets her hustle on and starts telling me about how she needs more money for christmas presents for her kids (heard it) or can't pay for X bill, etc etc... In my time in and around the biz, I was more likely to face the hustle than actually think I should tip... but its happened, and I put it on reviews when I do!
The hustle is another reason only to take in what youre spending... keeps the heads from overruling one another

except for the freudian slip, you said what I try to do. My last tip was $50 for just daty, BUT it was well beyond the normal menu, and I wanted to show him..... I mean her, that being flexible has its rewards.

Do providers do the things Questor listed with the hope or expectation of being tipped? Some perhaps yes, but for me the goal isn't really about earning a tip. Tips are nice, and its flattering when someone tips me. I value my regulars, and anytime I meet someone for the first time, my goal is to make him a regular. The qualities Questor expressed that are tip-worthy are also the qualities that will keep someone returning again and again, and that to me is far better than an occasional tip.
JackJohnson - I have in fact turned down a tip when offered. Lol its a long story, but he reads this forum, so he will get a chuckle over it. Once again, sorry about the bookcase!
Providers declining a tip might be rare, but it does happen

Thanks Sins. While I'm sure there are some providers out there that are ONLY in the biz for the money and could care less about anything else, I'm not as jaded as JackJohnson. My experience shows there are a lot of providers out there who share your sentiment Sins and actually enjoy the job, give a shit about giving the guys they see and try to give them a great time which will make them become regulars. Obviously a tip from me is only considered for those providers who geniunely enjoy themselves during a session, go above and beyond in their efforts and make me walk away wanting more.

THAT sounds like a good story I'm sure it does happen though, the only time I've had it happen is when I was out with a provider on an actual "date"... well I mean a non BCD hanging out sort of thing... I told that story on another thread
