Complete horseshit. Listen to Rush and Hannity and the rest of the conservative entertainment idiots some more, and formulate your opinions based on what they say. You're an idiot, and anybody that thinks the way you think is an idiot alongside you. It's a feeble and idiotic explanation that you and the rest of the right-wing loons are using to explain the rejection by the American people of the agenda you represent and advance. If it makes you feel better, go for it, but it's complete and utter horseshit.

I don't think the problem is that the Republican agenda was too different from the Democrats, I think it was too similar. Both sides want to increase spending, increase defense, continue our role as world policeman and use taxes as a way to manipulate society. Both sides support NDAA, the Patriot Act and limitations on freedom. Both sides want to cater to the TBTF banks and corporations. Both sides want government control of health care to some degree. Both parties want to continue the war against people controlling their own bodies and lives. The Democrats are for more reproductive freedom, but that is only because the Republicans still depend on the evangelical Christian vote, which they should have learned this time is not dependable. But otherwise, they are the same.
The Republican party has become superfluous. The battle between them and the Democrats is more of a charade; an illusion of choice.
We need a party of freedom. We need a party of fiscal responsibility, personal responsibility and individual rights. We no longer need the Republicans.

Are you really so gullable and brainwashed that you believe that crap about "government handouts?"
Hey buddy how about the government handing out trillions in credit to corporations and banks? How about that Dude?
Do you really think the tiny amount spent today on welfare like food stamps and shit compares ANYTHING like the trillions spent on entitlements like military pensions to fourty year old military retirees or people retiring on social security at age 63?
Dude the government spends very little on welfare.
All the money is spent on middle class people.
Hell poor people don't vote anyway.

How long will it be before the American labor movement again rises up and opposes unrestrained immigration as it did in the 1880s and 90s under the leadership of Samuel Gompers.
Gompers, like most labor leaders of his era, opposed unrestricted immigration from Europe because it lowered wages, and opposed all immigration from Asia because it lowered wages and represented (to him) an alien culture that could not be easily assimilated. He and the AF of L strongly supported the Chinese Exclusion Actof 1882 that banned the immigration of Chinese. The AF of L was instrumental in passing immigration restriction laws from the 1890s to the 1920s, such as the 1921 Emergency Quota Act and the Immigration Act of 1924, and seeing that they were strictly enforced.

You don't know the Democratic Party very well:
Andrew Cuomo
Elizabeth Warren
Deval Patrick
Tim Kaine
Brian Schwitzer
Martin O'Mally
Kirsten Gillibrand
Mark Warner
Rahm Emanuel
Antonio Villaraigosa
John Hickenlooper
My money would be on Warren and Patrick.

Joe “The Gaffe” Biden is the only one to announce his intentions, “And after it’s all over . . . then you’ll vote for me in 2016,” Joe “The Gaffe” Biden said in earshot of reporters capturing his every word, 21 October 2012. Are you claiming Joe "The Gaffe" Biden isn't good enough to be president, but you Dimocrats elected him to be vice president knowing that puts him in the position to become president in case the president becomes incapacitated or dies?

Good Lord!
Just take a look at post #16. Does anyone really want to hold up California, of all states, as an example of the gloriousness of Democratic Party dominance? Ballooning levels of social welfare spending and massive payoffs to public-sector unions and other favored constituencies are busting the state.
If California is a "glimpse of the future", we're in even more trouble than I thought.
It's a great spectacle for those who desire just a little extra "edge of aggressiveness" in their fiscal kamikaze missions!
|
Actually, now that they're not going to have gridlock and passed Gov. Brown's tax plan, I think you're going to see California performing much more like she has historically done. It will take five or six years to dig out of the hole, but it will happen. Investment in public goods like education and transportation infrastructure are what drove growth in California and it will again. I have many friends who live in Calufornia (SFO Bay Area and Silicon Valley) and all are now much more optimistic.

VP Biden will be a formidable candidate if he chooses to run. He is beloved in the party and is a very effective campaigner, especially in small States such as Iowa and New Hampshire where retail politics is still a staple. And he would be a good President.
But your ointment seemed to be that he was the leading candidate or the inky credible candidate. It will be a highly qualified field FULL of attractive candidates. Obviously, Secretary Clinton might also be another name who has run before, like VP Biden. But there will be plenty of fresh faces.

Yeah, but that won't stop IBCRYING from making wild accusations or calling any of them disrespectful names.
typical of him. the worst offender on the board.
good luck trying to have a mature debate if hes involved. Odds are he'll repeat himself three or four times to make his point.
How mature.
He'll post his little cartoon again in response to this post, in all probability.

The fact that the California Legislature's big-spending majority has managed to blast away any semblance of gridlock means that it has no chance of even coming remotely close to pulling the state's fisc out of the abyss within "five or six years." Those political hacks are completely beholden to public-sector unions, radical environmentalists, and other expensive-to-placate special interest groups.
And do you understand what Jerry Brown's tax "plan" is? One main element is an increase in the state sales tax of 0.25%. But that will be more than offset by California's continuing job losses to other states and to the increasing income inequality that the state is experiencing as its welfare rolls rapidly swell. The other primary element is the increase in the state's top-bracket income tax rate to 13.3%. Add that to the planned federal income tax rate increase to 43.4% (including the new 3.8% health care surtax) and you'll see a marginal income tax rate of 56.7% for Californians. If you think that won't cause some taxpayers to shift their activities in such a way as to avoid some of the additional burden, you don't understand how the real world works. Much of the anticipated additional revenue will simply pull a disappearing act. And even if the state manages to pull in some additional revenue, it won't even come remotely close to covering the rapidly ballooning costs arising from promises made to public sector unions.
And if that's not enough, California's "leaders" have decided to further reduce the state's economic competitiveness (relative to other states) by imposing a carbon cap-and-trade regime. That will significantly drives up costs for businesses, consumers, or both. Nothing like stacking failure atop failure.
If you were to scale up California's model of governance and blanket the entire U.S. with it, we'd soon be running annual deficits of at least $2 trillion.
And the trajectory would be scarier still.
