I am very new to the hobby and I have some questions. I suppose I am like everyone else and have some fear of personal identification.

It's not that I don't trust anyone I just understand that by giving out personal information and employment verification there is a chance that could cause problems in the future.

Where is the balancing act? I understand the need for ladies to be able to verify but also my need for confidence. I don't believe most girls would take advantage of that information, but what if it was lost or given through no fault of their own.

I am sure others with more experience have navigated these waters before me, so any advice would be very helpful.

It'll cost, but it'll be worth the cost.

Once you've joined, I'd suggest looking for a lady there who's newbie friendly (accepts members with no provider ok's), do what she needs to screen you, and get that all-important (IME) first ok.

Once you've seen a good provider and have a reference, the process gets lots easier.

411 is the way to go! I am always in Nashville and the ladies are very reference friendly...via 411. Would be wise to listen to the advice above and invest in it

Date-Check is also a verification that you may want to check out. P-411, Date-Check, and RS2k (in the Chicago area only) are all sites you should be familiar with that have proven to be benificial. Do your homework and follow the advice above. I don't know if you travel much, but if you do more than one account may be necessary, and you will find duplication of information among them as well. Most ladies that tour have multiple accounts also.

I like Date-Check (it was the first verification site I joined), but in the Mid-South and other southern states I get the impression that P411 has a wider audience (on the provider side). I often check both sites when I have a lady on my radar.

I don't get to Chicago enough to make RS2K a good investment, so I don't know much about it.

I agree with Dallas. As long as you stick with reputable ladies with an outstanding reputation, and one who has reviews and a website, you should be just fine. If you are not a P411, or a date check member, most ladies including myself will not be able to accomodate you unless you have at least 2 reputable ladies as references. But if they are reputable, they will need this info. as well. Most of the well established ladies I know does not keep a lot personal info. about their clients nor in a place where it can be lost. I also don't know of any lady who accidentally gives others your info. If she is professional, well-reviewed and trusted, this will not happen. If you don't feel comfortable joining any of these sites. The last option for you would be to share your work info. with the lady. After that, you can use her as your reference. Congratulations on coming here to ask questions. Hopefully you are hearing--and heeding--the good advice above. I'll add that it helps to also be active on the forums. With references and an established, active personality here on the forums (not just reviews) then you'll find it easier to make friends with the quality ladies GFEJ has mentioned.

It's a balancing act. Me only, I'm not asking to prove who you are. I'm asking to prove who you aren't. I see a difference.

If I'm newbie screening you then I talk to you first. Just talking to someone usually clears the jitters (in my own experience). Email, ask me to phone screen. If you dont seem like an asshole, I'll tell you to call me, we'll talk, you'll think "Ok she's straight" & I'll do what I need to feel comfortable & we go from there.
There is sort of a bare minimum to what a lady will ask for - some will ask for more, some will ask for seemingly odd things. Your choice. Find someone who's comfort level matches what you're willing to put out there. I know some ladies who really dont screen just go by gut & thats ok.

You got 2 choices - get a girl off the lines ie the internet "track" BP etc (working straight off BP & BP type venues is called "workin the lines" did you know that?). It may take 10 dates before you get one or two you might (heavy on the might) be able to use as a reference to what may (hopefully) be a so-called "higher end" more "escort type" (and definitions vary by client & by provider) lady. IE you roll the dice in 50 to 150 land for +/- 10 dates to get 2 refs that a lady who charges 200 & up will accept. They may not be "solid". They may be acceptable. Yes to a provider there is a difference between solid & acceptable - or should be I think.
Or you suck it up, RTF, do some homework & find a "newbie friendly" provider who's reference is considered solid - by the majority of other local providers and do whatever to make that date with her. Have her invite you to p411. I believe < lemme know; that when we invite, you guys get 30 days free? Used to be? Rather than pay the membership upfront, get a date with a reputable lady who will refer you to p411 & get 30 days to decide if you wanna keep p411. BTW we get points to use for ad upgrades for every ok we give but we get more points when we invite. And remember p411 does not guarantee jackshyte @ lady. It's not a hobby panacea.

In every area there is one, two, three "golden ticket" references. These are local providers that every other local provider - on every level - will take as a solid ref. A reference from one of these ladies is the "golden ticket" reference - the key to the city & will get you through most doors. One maybe two solid local providers gets you the touring ladies. And so on & so on. Real good providers are willing to refer you to other good providers. "Hey I cant make that time, contact so&so & tell her I said pimento & to call me if she needs to" type deals where WE do your screening for you. If she has a good regional or national rep then she can do that for you all across the USofA. Think about that. I've referred clients to Good Ladies in AZ, CA, IL, PA, DC, FL, LA, MS & all over TN. And I've gotten calls from providers from all over asking me to "do a personal favor, take special care of". A Good Provider keeps Good Clients happy either by treating the clients well herself or by making sure the clients get treated well with another or other Good Providers. Yes. We refer our better boys to the better girls. And it's always a win win.

Everybody has to start establishing themselves somewhere. Start solid or start iffy but you'll start somewhere.

Only minor points to add: 1) IIRC, when I was invited to P411 by a lady I'd seen, the free period after one accepted the invite was at least 60 days, maybe 90. I'm pretty sure it was over 30. Then again, that was a number of years ago, and I'm gettin' old and senile, so I may be misremembering or things may have changed since then. 2) In my experience and MHO only, it's still worth the money even if you have to pay upfront to join. While nothing is guaranteed, I've had a lot more good experiences with P411 ladies than I've had "meh" experiences with them (and the one lady there I've had "meh" experiences with I've also had mind-blowing experiences with; she's just hit-and-miss by nature).

Sure, I'm a cheap bastard by nature, so I totally agree it's better to get on via a freebie than to have to pay, but even if one has to pay it's much more an investment than just throwing away money.
