The founders knew that democracy is not a viable system. That's why they created a constitutional republic. Unfortunately, we've morphed into a defacto democracy over time. Democracies always go socialistic and eventually die. The mob always loots the treasury.

Our constitution is the only thing that has sustained
this country for 200 years. If our constitution
goes the country goes with it.
Our Constitution is America, America is our Constitution.
To try and destroy the constitution is treason, nothing less.
We enjoy many rights in this country, but the right to
destroy our constitution isn't one of them.

I agree with your sentiments bojulay....but IMO, that train left the station awhile ago. The challenge now is to stop the train and back it into the station so we can get back on the right track.

The two major parties are too old and too entrenched to be changed from within. Both parties are wholly owned subsidiaries of the Big Banks and Major Corporations. The differences between them are cosmetic, at best. Look at this campaign. One of the wedge issues is contraception. Really? Is that really that important? The country is on the path to economic failure and police statism. Neither side plans to repeal the Patriot Act or NDAA. Neither party has plans to reign in spending to a degree that will make a difference. Both parties want to waste millions of dollars on a failed war on drugs. Our tax system is beyond comprehension. And we're arguing whether a person should by their own condoms? Really?
It's time for the system to be replaced. There is too much inertia to overcome in trying to reform one of the two major parties. The Tea Party started out as a terrific organization. But they have been corrupted by the Republican Party. It's common now for Tea Partiers to support limiting liberty, and increased spending. It seems like their only mantra is tax cuts for the rich. Who cares? The rich don't, because they will find a way around any tax increase. Repeal Obamacare? Yeah, right. It should be repealed. But what will take its place? No one knows. The status quo wasn't working. I hear very little about market based reforms. Tax reform? Yeah. We hear that every campaign. It only gets worse.
Believe me, if the Libertarian Party ever took control, they would be corrupted in 50 to 75 years, just like our current parties. It's time to change them, and keep changing them.
The Libertarian Party is the best hope for freedom at this time, but it's not a permanent solution. The people need to be reminded of why the Constitution was written, and why it is the best hope for representative government the world has seen. But it has been corrupted with the consent and support of both major parties.
Thomas Jefferson said, “Every generation needs a new revolution.” I agree. He understood that governments get stale and corrupt. We've long passed that point. We're way overdue. The time is now.

The answer to Americas problems are simple !
1. Term Limits
2. Tort Reform
3. No Lobbyist allowed
Even the simplest of minds ( wtf / yessup rider / stevie ) have to agree with this!

Not necessarily. Do you honestly believe that Romney can turn this around? I don't think he can even if he really wanted. Both parties work for whoever provides the funds, not for you or me. What we need is to go to the voting booth and stop electing D's and R's and start supporting 3rd parties in higher numbers. Until people stop believing the fairy tale that the Dems and Repubs tell them in every cycle and are shown the door even in local elections, the system will not change. Changing a party from within is also an illusion. I would be a Tea Partier today if they had zero affiliation to the GOP. As long as the GOP runs the strings, I refuse to continue to support the status quo. Today, I voted against every Democrat and Republican on the ballot and for those that didn't have any other option, my vote was left blank. I refuse to continue to feed the beast. Once life in the U.S. becomes intolerable, I'm prepared to move to another country where I don't have emotional attachments and plan on living a simpler life. If I don't know what's going on back home, I won't care how the Dems and Repubs continue to destroy America.

COG is a shit-stirrer who knows that it's always more fun, and more importantly, much easier, to snipe at whatever political party is in power....rather than trying to defend a party in power and making decisions based on political realities rather than the pie-in-the-sky Libertarian bullshit.

Sadly when the two current political parties finally implode,
what will we be left with? Not a libertarian government I'm
afraid, but probably marshal law and/or the United Nations.

What about the two major parties is worth praising? They both support the Patriot Act, endless wars, the NDAA, unlimited spending, using the income tax for social engineering, the ridiculous war on drugs, policing the world, limiting freedom, bailing out banks, foreign aid to countries that hate us and lying to us with alarming regularity.
How do I choose?
