I'm already sick and tired of seeing RIP Big Tex on my FB newsfeed. It's a machine! They already stated on the news that Big Tex will be rebuilt and ready for next years State Fair. Everyone on FB is "so sadden by this". It's not like a human died or something from nature was destroyed, it was metal, wires and cloth.

First off ... damn fine sig line.

Secondly, Big Tex had more personality than many people I have met since I got plopped in N TX. That being said is why the sadness. Many families used Big Tex as a landmark at the fair. "If we get separated go to Big Tex and wait." I have heard that several times.
