Bumping a thread is when someone makes a post in a thread to keep it near the top of the thread listings. Normally they eventually fade away after interest in the topic has been lost.

Hijacking is when people make posts that are not on topic. OSD is famous for this.

Points are issued by mods and/or admins when you break forum guidelines. I am famous for this LOL. Here is a thread on the topic of forum guidelines.
