One that always bugs me is the use of "passed" when they should use "past" in describing hair length, as in "blonde passed shoulders". "Passed" is the past tense of the verb "to pass" and describes movement in relation to another point in space or time, as in "two ships that passed in the night". Unless you are describing how her hair got to its present location, you've chosen the wrong word.

"Past" can be just about anything except a verb, and in this case it's a preposition meaning "beyond", as in "7 Star is past the Sam Houston Parkway (if you're coming from downtown Houston)", or "It's past time to stop picking on Dorothy Monroe".

Having money has nothing to do with doing right. Plenty of well-to-do folks who have dubious sources of income. Last I heard we are in Houston which isn't exactly a town of outstanding moral aptitude. Afford to live in the suburbs? Mmmmmmm, suburbs is where it's very cheap to live. Try living in the city. Either you have a lot or you don't have enough. As I said earlier, these are old men who have nothing else to do with their time besides correcting grammar.
