Nookie Green
Father Murphy was having a bad day. All morning men had been coming to confession with the same story.
" Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. I have been unfaithfull with Nookie Green".
The next Sunday, right before services were to begin, a fine red-headed woman came in and stood in the aisle, drawing stares from all. She was dressed in a green silk dress, emerald in ears and on fingers, with she shineyest green, patent leather pumps anyone had ever seen.
The father turns to one of the alter boys and asks...
"Is that Nookie Green?"
" No Father" he replied, "I think that's just the reflection off her shoes".
