Outkicking your coverage.

In football, if your kicker booms the ball down-field further than your special team players can run and adequately protect against a run back ,he is said to have out-kicked his coverage. Have you as a hobbyist or provider ever overreached and found yourself with someone that was "out of your league" ?

Not making a political statement, this is sexual. But if you want to take it a different way feel free.

Just to stay away from the politics Once in Vegas. Picked up two ...um...Casino lasses. Not only did I drop enough to buy a decent used car, I was not up to the task. I only play in the minor leagues now.

Most definately found myself out of my leasgue once.

I was attending a conference in Denmark several years ago; two weeks of endless meetings during the day and endless dinners at night...

My hosts arranged for a " guide and dinner companion" to show me around the city and attend some of the quieter dinners. I accepted so as not to be rude, and was told she would arrive at my hotel to show me the city...

The doorbell rings in my suite, I answer the door, and the most beautiful woman I have seen is standing there...

She walks in, no; she glides in, walking down the hallway to the living area. The windows overlooking the park are open; the birds in the park immediately take one look at her and are instantly quiet...damn,they all say...

She is 6', Nordic Blonde, piercing blue eyes, could model for any fashion magazine on earth, 3'' strappy sandals, pale blue wrap around dress with plunging neckline. A Goddess..

She smiles and begins unbuttoning her dress, staring me in the eyes and says," I want to get to know you before I show you my city".

Well my friends, being the full blooded American Male that I am, I could not let down my country or my hosts, so I did what anyone in my postion would do......I cried.....

"Little Pedro" peeked over the top of my pants at her and let out a scream and shriveled back down for a loooong nap...

I was so far out of my league it was not even funny......

This topic makes no sense to me. If she is offering/willing, aren't you pretty much by definition "within your league"?

I don't recall outkicking my coverage, even once, when I was the punter on my H.S. football team in the 1960s. But if truth be told, I certainly cannot claim to have been one of the better punters in town.

In the investment world I've had to punt many times. Although it could be said that I outkicked my coverage in every instance, that's only because I had no coverage!
