My ECCIE Reviews
Default Time served

I have two manifestation tickets. I was in Lew Sterrett for 4 days on another charge and then I bonded out. The tickets turned into FTA's and are now 681. each. I am trying to find out
1. If the four days will count against the fine since I bonded out?
2. How much credit do I get per day if I decided to sit it out?
3. Is there an inexpensive or trade lawyer who will take care of there for me? (250)
Thanks,
Sweetheart.

Sweets,

I would suggest you don't want to put this much personal information on the web for LE to find.

Further, I would strongly urge you not to hire a lawyer in trade - if you can't trade $$$ for services rendered by an attorney, you may want to consider getting a court appointed attorney.

I don't know what some of the terms you are using mean, especially FTAs, but if you were in jail on one charge, I don't see how you could apply that time served for a separate charge.

I do know a gal in FW who spent a week in jail to work off a large amount of traffic tickets. My memory serves me correct, it was over $3000 in traffic fines. (And damn she was a hornly little lady when she got out that evening.)

Tig,
Thanks for the information. I am not too concerned about LE finding aobut all of this since LE gave me the tickets..
The court won't appoint an attorney for tickets.
FTA = Failure to appear
The question I am asking is - since I paid the bond to get out in the end, then why would the time served count against the amount of the bond in the first place.

Thanks,

1. No. The 4 days do not count because the tickets were not what was holding you in jail.

2. Generally, you get $150/day credit when you sit out tickets in Dallas County jail. In Collin County, it's only $50/day. As I recall, they will only hold someone for 10 days max for tickets.

3. Don't know about the lawyer. However, if you have more time than money, and you don't mind State housing, maybe you might want to turn yourself in.

If you ever get stopped by the police, don't give them a fake name because you have warrants. That's a class A misdemeanor (failure to ID as a fugitive). That's a criminal offense, which you don't need.

Good luck!
