An Eye for an Eye
Gandhi said, "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."
They kill us, so we kill them, then they kill us for killing them, then we kill them for them killing us because we killed them for killing us . . .
Is there an end to this pattern?

The pattern is usually ended with overwhelming force and unconditional surrender. The Germans and the Japanese have been downright peaceful since WWII.
Of course we can just give up and hope the Jihadists will be merciful. Personally, I'd rather kill them before they kill us.
Ghandi's non violent resistance worked with the British, because he knew the British people were basically decent, and he could appeal to their sense of compassion. Martin Luther King used the same strategy. I don't think Ghandi's strategy would have worked with a Muslim country.

Multi-culturalism is what shattered Yugoslavia. Strength doesn't come from diversity. It comes from unity.

Sounds like you think ethnic clensing is a good thing; it makes a country strong.
No wonder the US never amounted to anything, it's about as culturally diverse as you can get, and has been since it's inception.

The struggle between Asia and the West predates Xerxes and Leonidas: blame it on Helen of Troy.

Wrong Old Turd! America has been successful because we have always been a melting pot. We have been successful because immigrants, until recently, were required to assimilate. They were expected to learn the language and conform to our culture.
Multiculturalism is the opposite of what has made us great. The belief that all cultures are equal has a Balkanizing effect. It fragments and weakens the country.
United we stand. Divided we fall.

Historically the US has been united on a culture of freedom, self reliance and the opportunity for anyone to succeed. People came from all over and adopted the US values. Sadly, those values are changing.

Some common core values is a far cry from uni-cluturalism.
I have no issue if j-b said "common core values", but he didn't.
We have never been a cultural melting pot, but a cultural quilt.
--5th most living languages of any country
--Every conceivable cuisine, art, and small community preserving their CULTURE
--Walk across NYC and actually look at what you see; within 10 blocks of the house I grew up in I can count Columbian, German, Irish, Russian, Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, and Korean enclaives. All have their shops and businesses--all reflecting their heritage but reflecting their interpretaion of those common cultures. There are at least 14 different religeons/religeous denominations.
By the way: countries with the least linguistic diversity--therefore by j-b's logic the kind of country he aspires to--include: No Korea, Cuba, Haiti. All in the seven most "culturally unified" countries. Yep, blind logical disconnect at it's best.

If you believe this, Old-T, please explain why the socialist education system in Finland is currently being touted by liberals as the one to emulate.
