So yeah, curious what the ladies think about the following as pertains to their showcase pics:

All materials contained on the Web Site are protected by copyright, and are owned or controlled by Company. You will abide by any and all additional copyright notices, information, or restrictions contained in any Content on the Web Site. Copying or storing of any Content for other than personal, noncommercial use is expressly prohibited without the prior written permission from Company.

I think that means that ECCIE has our back when it comes to people stealing pictures from this site. It's not like we don't have the ability to manipulate them, or even take them down. But if you copy a picture and post it for the purpose of making money or slander, you could be sued. Or something to that effect...

Really?

You think ECCIE is going to somehow spend money protecting your back if one of those things you mention happens?

ECCIE is here to share information. IF you find a site that is doing what you claim, you need to take steps to protect your self and not rely on others.

As for the original topic which is the standard template for the software, good luck with that.

Claiming a site owns member submitted information is hilarious at best and what ECCIE can do is point and ban members who get caught sharing certain portions but even that is difficult.

As nice as it would be if they could, there is really no way ECCIE can do anything about someone harvesting the entire site and uploading it to another server.

Hell, when ASPD was getting ready to shut down in December 2009, ECCIE rewarded members for copying threads and reviews that were also under the claimed "copyright protection" of ASPD.

I can already see a big problem for Eccie as far as images go . Many of the providers have posted pictures of themselves in there showcase that they do not own the copyright for . Some providers have used pictures from websites that they have modeled for . Those websites own the copyright for those pics and if Eccie were to claim ownership they could find themselves in court . So if Eccie can't prove they own the images on this site they can't inforce any type of copyright for them . I am quite sure they do not have 2257 compliance or even any model releases ..
Because this a forum it would be like youtube saying they owned all the videos on there site ...
