It was kind of neat that the two characters said 'I'm an American!' 'But what kind of American?'

The film 'Don't look up', which was a parody on the pandemic and people not believing the facts right in front of them - in the film's case, the moon was literally getting closer and closer until everyone died... but the people in that film denied it, because it's so absurd and they only believe what is on TV. An ironic parody, but it didn't hurt anyone.


Whereas this film is going to cause people to get hurt. What better way to spread misinformation than a film that's literally mirroring or trying to predict, or trying to goad the world into doing what it is about. So utterly distasteful.



But then again, we are in a society where people are going to believe that a real civil war is going to take place, so fuck those people and fuck everyone involved in this film. They all fucking knew what they were doing.

People aren't going to be entertained to see people act reasonable on the big screen, in a film about a civil war, in an election year where one party is already making attempts to illegal steal it, where they might have Insurrection #2, Civil War Boogaloo happen again in real life.

I think Trumpers would like to see this as an outcome, since they have failed to change the country to be as racist an zenophobic as they would like politically, the next alternative is to do it violently. There are many on this board who tout how much "fire-power" the MAGA side has, and that they would rely on this as a mechanism to ensure that they get their way. Its such a sad social statement by the group that supposedly supports the blue, and US armed forces....gets tat's of 'we the people' on their arms and chests, and yet, won't be held accountable to the same laws that normal ppl do. They are the same ppl who are spoon fed conspiracy theories daily and excrete them out at the same pace. It makes you just shake your head and think, how fucking stupid are you!!?

Jan 6- shows us that insurrectionists are not above the law. But so far, presidents are. Cause holding a president accountable would mean they were complicit in the planning or execution of the same.

Even when there are recordings, and more coming out everyday- they still want their guy to be tried in court for the charge of Insurrection, vs Conspiracy to defraud. Will the outcome be a wag the dog moment where art becomes life- or will the courts of this land intercede and stop some of this madness- or atleast see justice to a conclusion before November ?!

Ironic in that, 30-40 years ago, the people who lived in rural/red areas tended to vote more to what Democrats vote for now. Just that, with the fact that jobs moved away from more rural places to the blue cities, the GOP took advantage of a under educated population to push their radical ideals.



Why don't people understand that the GOP doesn't want to just fuck the country, but also the little guy who they have trained and condition to love them.



I'm sure every Trump Humper who wants an actual civil war actually wants one... but wouldn't want to fight in it. Or give their guns away to others to fight it. Some 300lb overweight gun lover isn't going to see much action
