Any sort of paper trail is a major no no. Just use the ATM ta pick up the cash. If your short, ya need to wait till ya grow.

Yeah, the delayed payment option is great. If the service sucks, I won't pay you.

If the all transactions for the year add up to 600 or more they send u a 1099. If it's credit card payments totaling 600 or more for the year they send a 1099k

They didn't send me one.

I don't generally accept PayPal. It gives your full name and yes, payment can be canceled after services are rendered. Also if PayPal finds out you're using it for sex work they will take all the money out of your account and close it down. Venmo, square cash, or google wallet are better options.

With that said, I have accepted it on a few rare occasions. I had one client from San Francisco give me my entire donation + flight & hotel through PayPal and I've accepted deposits from others a few times before.

Nikki is exactly right! This could be a good or bad thing depending on if you file taxes claiming hobby income. When webcamming I loved getting a 1099 form n having it all kept track of for me. I actually was audited by state that year (assuming being self employed sent a red flag) and having that 1099 made it so much easier. There's issues with those with children claiming the child tax credit and making up false self employed income to get bigger returns, so having proof of income can be nice if that's your situation (unless you make over the cut off and end up owing in. But if you're a parent you'll typically get more back then what you'll owe in taxes).

The issue with PayPal is they do not allow any form of sex work n the client can easily dispute payment and get it returned. When webcamming I never accepted PayPal for off site Skype calls, photos/videos, etc. Too many issues with girls being scammed via PayPal. If you want to accept credit then I'd recommend using a straight credit app and add in the small fee they charge for each transaction. You can even choose what it'll show up as on their credit card bill to keep it discrete.

Of course, with trusted regulars PayPal would likely be safe but I personally wouldn't with someone I did not know well.

I wouldn't recommend a paper trail in this business but that's my personal preference. Everyone has to weigh their own individual pros n cons.

Busty, I do believe I read that if you take the transaction as "personal" vs "business" it can avoid the 1099. I'm not familiar with PayPal but I remember reading something along those lines. Would that possibly make sense as to why they didn't send you one?

Ive used them for 20 years. Occasionally Ive used it for this.

Any merchant will shut you down for illegal activity its not just Paypal.

Money run through these merchant accounts is reported to the IRS via your tax ID number or your social number.

PP Terms:

US$20,000 in gross payment volume from sales of goods or services in a single year
200 separate payments for goods or services in the same year

You can dispute payment through ANY merchant or their own card company.

Not sure why so many think this is a Paypal thing, its a credit thing. Paypal just has a longer window for a chargeback.

I'll stick with cash. Paypal seems like a hassle.

Talking to Jenna about this...In regards to PayPal $20,000 in gross payment volume and 200 separate payments are required in a calendar year before a Form 1099-K is issued. However you choose to file your taxes is your business. What's nice about PayPal is you can open a business account and therefore your DBA shows up on your clients debit/credit card statement not your real life name or some hooker email address.
