Manchin capitulates, rather than switch.
OK, its clear Manchin was no longer a shoo in in WV, so, it was clear he needed to switch to an R, to get re-elected.
Instead, he dies a Democrap to the end, only to almost assure a Republican takes the office in the next election.
Coward?
Hero?
DINO?
Wanker?

... Easier for him to get a lobby jobby (hey! that's right-clever)
from his fellow Democrats.
And he was NOT going to win the Republican primary if he did switch.
Manchin was good for a bloke who aint a Republican, but that's
as far as the love-fest goes, I reckon.

Manchin definitely a DINO. Glad he was a D to give them a Senate majority, but generally useless otherwise.

... The main reason Manchin decided to bow out was because
he surely saw the writings on the wall that he was a
dead goose this time around. A Republican will WIN the seat!

Manchin was the ONLY Dem to reach across the aisle, and it was with worthless Pat Toomy to enact useless gun control.
That said, I'll take the R over a DINO anyday.
But, for those of you with short memories, he was the last of his kind, a D that didn't want to kill week old babies, and, willing to compromise, his loss is good, but, bad, in the fact, there will never be a middle to agree upon again.
Partisan politics, and hate, just the way the D's like it.

Lol. Nobody wants to kill week old babies. Literally nobody. More scare tactics from the far right that work on weak minded individuals. Same folks who think trickle-down economics works and believe the 2020 election was stolen.
Manchin voted against Democrats a full 20% of the time. He was a plant.

Dems are not into partial abortion or anything like that. Not sure who ever said that was full of shit. Dems think that a reproductive rights question about a woman's pregnancy needs to be between her doctor and the mother. Not the Mother, a GOP governor or congressman.
It's insane that THAT even needed to be said out loud, but conservatives think that it's far better for a mother to struggle with a pregnancy, give birth to a child who may be severely dysfunctional or worse, so that afterwards they can tell the mother that the EBT Card and snap benefits, and shit like child care credits or housing assistance is being taken away anyway. It's funny because they don't care about babies really they just care about the politics of protecting children in the womb, and then kicking them down the street and forcing them into poverty after birth.
Maybe one of you conservatives can tell me about a program that's either current or brought forth by Republicans that help children once they're born.
Hell, R's want to end WIC and slash funding for anyone who gets food assistance...such good people. I've never heard of a single bill being presented by Rs or supported by conservatives outside of some words salad, about daycare, but...it's never materialized
We will sit back and wait while you find one program that has made it to a bill.

... Can we get back on-topic and discuss Joe Manchin?
Let's try... Shall we?!
.... There are whispers of Manchin-D maybe running for the
presidency IF and WHEN Sleepy Joe pulls out.
And if so - Joe Manchin will then see just how LITTLE popularity
he really has... Maybe he'll ask Pence or Asa Hutchenson about that.

Manchin sold out the people of WV, he's simply a phony and a disgrace.
Energy is the backbone of WV. He sold out the people on Coal, Natural Gas Exploration and Pipeline construction for the likes of Obama and Joe Biden.
Your supposed to vote in the best interest of the people that voted you into office, he simply lied and deceived them.

I don't disagree with that, but, I think the Dems used him just to get the big bills passed, and, really did things that hurt him more than he expected.
He sold out, and he's paying for it now, because they have made him unelectable in WV.

I would say it's exactly the OPPOSITE of what the D's like. I've not seen the hatred coming from anywhere but the Right. Our reps on the right, even wanted to fight in the senate, a R from Oklahoma, was ready to throw down till someone reminded him he was a senator. That's right- a fucking fight, right in the floor of the meeting.
When you are saying that hate is flowing, wouldn't you say it's the R's that are first to pick a subject and get all pissed off when they don't get what they want, and take their ball and go home= as a matter of fact, the hate flows like the dark side of the force within Darth Vader.
Hell they even held the entire country hostage while they couldn't make up their mind about anyone on their side that didn't have a black eye from all the fights they picked, or didn't pick. So when it comes to partisan politics, it's not the DEMS who are afraid of finding ways to reach across; it's the vast majority of the other side who is ready to eat their own before they let that happen. And if they cannot eat them, they just kill them politically by calling them a RINO. A RINO is anyone who would dare to try to find a compromise vs. quote a bible verse and tell the DEMS to pound sand.
Manchin was a good guy who decided the party he was in had changed, and the other side was even worse. Getting change in politics is case of "is the Devil you know, better or worse than the Devil you don't".

Manchin hates both parties, so do I.
Face it, not a single one of these far left or far right bozos have anything in their agendas to actually help the American people, all they want is to enrich their backers and themselves and sell lies for votes. They don’t give a fuck about you or I.
Common sense is dead in politics, both sides tout some of the dumbest harmful ideologies you can think of.
There’s been socialism for both sides over past couple decades, republicans handing free money and huge tax cuts/windfalls to big corps and the 3 percenters while dems try to get votes by giving stuff away for anyone who likes a free handout and a handy excuse why they lay around a couch all day or sell drugs…it’s never anyone’s fault but the big bad republicans.
Both sides suck.
I hope manchin does run, at least I have one thing in common with him.

Yep, one more time to state its why I was D, then R, then L, because I won't be part of either major party.
But, I'll tell you this, if Manchin runs, I'm switching back to a D, to vote for him for president.
And, if the D's hate him enough for running, I'd consider a vote for him in the General, only because I think he'd be a better candidate that most of what we have now.
