Gaddafi is dead...
So as all of us are hearing Gaddafi is offically dead.
As I sat and watched the 5 o'clock news, I couldn't help but wonder.... Why on earth are they showing footage of his attack and death but yet when Bin Ladden was killed we didn't get any footage?
What do you all think?

The footage of the attack on Bin Laden's compound was not released to the public. A photo was shown to every U.S. Congressman, but it wasn't released to the public.

Brooke, the US Government had sole control over the Bin Laden photos and they chose to practice discretion and not show them. The US Government doesn't have sole control over the Khadaffi pictures/videos, and the entities that do aren't practicing discretion (not that they should). It's as simple as that.

US government also states their is NO activity at Area 51, that it is an old military base that is no inactive.... Yet Satalite photos show it is tripled in size since first created.
Our wonderful government also knew about 9/11 and failed to do anything about it.... Had they done something, maybe every 9/11 wouldn't be a memorial to all those that died.
You sure you believe everything our government tells you?

My thoughts are now that we have taken over Libya we're going to install a new, meaner dictator so that we can exploit the country for everything we possibly can. The new dictator will be much more powerful than Khadafi because the US can teach him the best of mind control techniques, the difference is he will cooperate with the US on everything we ask of him.
Then we will send taxpayer dollars over there (our dollars), if not print completely new money to send which makes our dollars worth less and less. Meanwhile the big fat rich people that don't pay taxes but get to tell the government what to do with our money will reap the benefits of all the money we sent (you didn't honestly think we were sending it to help them did you?) Then the election will come and we will argue amongst each other as to whether Obama or Romney should be our President. We'll fight about issues like abortion, welfare, and all other types of policies, when the absolute truth is that no matter which one we elect they will destroy the power of our dollar, start more wars, print new money to send all over the world, send jobs overseas, and suck big smelly banker dick.
I was apalled when I saw Obama send our jobs to 2 more third world countries after he said that he wouldn't, appoint half of Wall Street to his Financial staff, and basically not keep any of his promises that he made to us when he was running. But he tells us he is trying to help us and he is a good public speaker and a cult of personality so about 65 percent of us are dumb enough to believe him.
So yeah, I really have no opinion on the Khadafi guy. What were we talking about? Lube?

My take on it is this. We killed Bin Laden, we would never show pictures or videos of his death because the public at large would disown it. Yes there are people out there that would become bleeding hearts for Terroists. Ghaddafi was killed by his own people, and the news networks over there published the videos and pics etc because thats how things are over there.
On to your your other point about the government. I've been in the Army almost 11 years and have gone thru 2 presidents or 3, I can't remember. I'm not political and never will be, because when it comes down to it, I will do whatever the president says even if I disagree with it. It will never matter who's in office, they will lie and tell the people whatever they want to hear to win the presidency, then change it up once they are in office.
Again thats just my opinion that last part, take it how you want. I also have no comment on 9/11 or Area 51 or any other conspiracy nonsense.

Khadafi's own people? Most of his people were dead becuse we bombed them. With no real reason to.
I don't have a bleeding heart for the man, hell I mis spell his name just like you do. I'm just telling the truth, and I'm sick of my money being spent messing with other people's governments while we are entering a depression.
And if you want to follow the President blindly thats your decision. There are a lot of people out there that won't.

No you didn't say blindly you said you do whatever he says no matter what, and you don't speak up or criticize. I'd say blindly, but maybe we can compromise. Mutely? Perhaps mutely would be a better term.

Well CIA had part of the information. The FBI had some. Along with the military and other agency's. Problem, is was against the law for them to talk to each other. So no one had all needed to stop it.

NY I couldn't agree more with that our tax dollars will now go towards another country to better their country and help their people when ours is crumbling at the cracks.
Jobs are promised over here for all education levels, whether entry or educated post college grads, yet some, depending on their educated background, have a hard time finding jobs.
The jobs Obama is creating, isn't creating them for the US people but for people of other countries.
I think it's time for the United States of America to start focusing on just that, The United States.

I respect this and your other comment about not bad mouthing the Commander-in-Chief. Thank you for your service.
I suspect you would also refuse to follow an unlawful order and just didn't include that nuance.
It's an important part of the overall force discipline to have Soldiers know that they have a duty to refuse an unlawful order. It keeps the leaders in check which is important when they control that much raw combat power.
