Hello to you all in Shreveport!

I'm getting ready for my trip out there next week and I had some questions for you all. I've only been through Shreveport once so I want to make this one a time to remember.

Hotels.

Where is a good and convenient area of town to stay in?

Dining.

Of course I want to know where the good restaurants are. I could go online and see who has high online ratings, but I want to go where the locals go. Nothing touristy.

Music.

I love love LOVE jazz. What better place than The Boot to find it? Can anyone suggest any good places to go listen to some good music?

Locals fear Monkhouse ... and casinos

As far as food, if you like BBQ try Podnuh's . Its been a family tradition since before I was born. If you like seafood, there's this place with a yellow sign next to Boost mobile (in a shopping strip) off Pines rd. Sam's is bland all the time but they give plenty of fish. Brothers has good soul food ...
