I was in Jaco yesterday and had a little time to kill before I picked up some clients to head on a tour. I stopped by my favorite breakfast restaurant to eat breakfast and to get any info I could on a rumor I heard. Turns out it's not a rumor but fact. It looks like Del Rey's Big John is not sitting back in his rocking chair. It appears he has bought a 2nd property in Jaco, the South Beach Hotel I was just by there and took a look around the 34 room facility. Prices of the rooms are ranging between $79 for a standard double to $249 for the Ocean front suite. Price includes taxes and a killer breakfast. They have a huge pool area with a small waterfall. Also, they are doing a lot of renovations to the property and it appears Big John is pulling out all the stops to compete with the Cocal. I was escorted around the property and allowed to take photo's. Stay tuned for more info.
