Apparently somebody has conflated SNAP benefits with immigration benefits. And this is in a singular city New York City. While disturbing, the inference that this is a wide ranging issue is not proven or observed.

They're both welfare programs under which the beneficiaries receive debit cards that are restricted to purchases of food and essentials.

They are different in NYC due to costs being higher for both food and housing. It's not systemic across any other states and the OP cited Chaz Kirk whom I said was just sensationalizing the situation. I will also say it's sad if NYC SNAP isn't paying it's vulnerable citizens a similar bump up for costs. But saying immigration benefits is the same as EBT / SNAP isn't truthful. Hell, it's also based on the amount of children under a qualified recipient and men don't typically qualify for housing assistance in general. Unless they are a primary care provider to children.

If they’re in this country illegally they should get nothing, not even a bus ticket back to wherever they came from. They made it here on foot, they can make it back.
