The people don't give a shit. Keep them pacified with social media, reality TV, sports and junk food, and government can do what it wants. They don't care if the next justice is right, left or anything. Hell, I'll bet a good share of the "people" don't even know we have a Supreme Court, let alone know anyone who sits on it. This is just grandstanding for the parties' respective political bases. It's meaningless. No one truly cares, except those who are vying for the appearance of power. Hell, half of the people aren't even going to vote, and among those who do, 90% of them are only attracted by the shiny lights.
