Default Russia Disconnected Chernobyl from the Grid

So the recent reports overnight are that Chernobyl has been disconnected from the Ukranian grid and now is no longer transmitting data to the UN's monitoring group.

It is bad, but nothing to raise the doom flag yet. If anything, it is to disrupt power to Ukraine. The same would happen regardless of it were a nuclear disaster, as it is still a key point of infrastructure

This is inconvenient but will not cause a safety issue.

First of all the Chernobyl site has 3 offsite power supplies, 750kV, 330kV and 110kV. According to current media messages they only lost one so the site should still be on a normal offsite power supply.

Now even if the media reporting is incorrect and they've lost all 3 offsite power supplies they still have emergency diesel generators which can provide atleast 7 days of power each.
If those diesel generators are lost too they're on batteries which will die within hours. They have mobile diesel generators they can connect in order to keep them charged.

If these mobile diesel generators also fail they'll be without power if the batteries die. In that case they just lose monitoring systems which means they'll have to inspect the various waste storage facilities locally.

The spent fuel in the Chernobyl site is atleast 22 years old which means they no longer require active cooling. If all cooling were to be lost the water in the spent fuel pools will not exceed 70°C and thus will not boil off. So the facilities are safe even without power.

... Mate, I surely figured they did that in-advance, anyway.
It would make sense.

Biden’s going to replace it with Windmills. AOC will do the ribbon cutting.

No disagreement from me. They're going to squeeze harder now as they continue bombardment and try to destabilize the grid, limit evacuation opportunities and try to starve out the opposition to break their will.

Really? How do you know? Do you have a hotline to the Kremlin?

How much of the grid do they control at this point? They're been targeting communication hubs. Electrical relay stations. Most of the nuclear plants. They're moving now to surround population centers instead of outright take them. Knock them into having to using their generators and deplete their backup systems.

Ukraine, I believe, is still not hooked into the European grid after they requested emergency assistance and still operating as an island. They had disconnected from the Russian grid at just the right time as part of a test, and opted not to reconnect. In the meantime, watch which plants the Russians have gone after and what that means for the generating capacity in Ukraine.

Watch what they've been doing in Mariupol. The ceasefire violations. Cutting off the electrical and water infrastructure. Shelling hospitals. Looting medical supplies, food and certain types of electronics. Cutting off egress routes.

Are you not paying attention?

Oh yeah, I’m paying attention. To different sources. Was the Azov Battilion started in Mariupol? Yes they were. Who’s controlling what there? Who’s shelling who? Of course I know you don’t know. Neither does the MSM.

By all means, Bam. Regale us with what's really happening. Can't wait for the Svoboda and Azov connections and more of Putin's talking points

I wonder if he'll bust out the garbage about how Putin is filling in for a certain Florida Orange in the fight against the biolabs funded by the leftists in their push to release the next great contagion as part of their plans to steal power and sow chaos around the world so that Soros can get Hillary elected in 2024.

It’s not producing electricity, so what, it’s still a disaster.

Because after everyone became political experts, then epidemiologist experts, now geopolitical experts all within the past 3 years, I assumed everyone is now becoming a military tactician now, right?

Honestly, even without looking into it, crippling a power grid is one of the primary goals of any invasion. Read some news articles from the early 2000s where they said 'if you live in a major political center with a power plant, the terrorists might bomb it before they bomb BFE Nowhere!'

While not producing electricity, electricity is still required at the plant for a variety of reasons. For example, the possibility of buildups of hydrogen gas in the cooling pools requires a venting system. The fact that there are no off-site radiation monitoring systems at this time. No cameras. No sharing of information even by email at this point.

It's as important to watch what they're not sharing as what they're doing and saying. That applies domestically and to the international community. They weaponize fear.
