Pennsylvania Republicans demand Fetterman either appear on camera or else resign

A group of Pennsylvania Republicans are demanding that Democratic Sen. John Fetterman either appear on camera and demonstrate he is still capable of doing his job or, failing that, that he resign from his federal office.


Fetterman has been hospitalized for nearly two weeks due to reported clinical depression; little is known about his status as an inpatient at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, though his staff said on Monday that he is "on a path to recovery."

The Washington County, Pa., Republican Party, meanwhile, said in a Facebook post on Monday that it "refuses to take assurances from the Office of the Senator or Democrat operatives that Fetterman is able to carry out his duties as Senator."

"As such, we call upon Senator Fetterman to appear on camera to show us he is alive and well," the post continued, "and if he is unable to do so, we call upon our elected Representatives in Washington, Senator Casey and Congressman Reschenthaler, to intervene immediately."

"Ultimately, if Fetterman is unable or unwilling to carry out his duties as a United States Senator, then we ask for his resignation and call for a special election to be held this year," the group said.


Fetterman suffered a stroke last May, leading to persistent concerns that his health would limit him from serving on Capitol Hill, though the senator repeatedly insisted he was capable of carrying out the duties of the office.

On one hand, I kinda feel bad for the guy. They have really abused him, but as long as they have their D rubber stamp that's all that matters, right?

On the other hand, the Republicans really should have run someone competent unlike Oz. They have nobody to blame but themselves...

in other news, Gisele Fetterman has requested that John Fetterman be given a room as high up as possible at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center because John likes a room with a view and to keep the windows open because he likes fresh air and if "something happens" as Senator, Gisele Fetterman will ask that an aircraft carrier be named the U.S.S. John Fetterman as was done for James Forrestal after he "tripped" out of the 16th floor window.
