Deaths due to terrorist attacks vs gun homicides in the U.S.
Since the attacks on 9/11/2001 there have been 74 deaths in the U.S. due to terrorist attacks compared to deaths by gun homicides of 150,000 since 2001.
We have gone to war with two countries, had military involvement in others and spend hundreds of billions on homeland security. . . We have done next to nothing about Gun violence. Damn shame.
- Info from CDC and Fareed Zakarias GPS

I don't know where you got your statistics but not all of those 150,000 gun deaths are the result homicides.

Even if 10 percent of them are, it's still ridiculous. Doesn't matter if it's a homicide. A person is still dead by a gun, that's why it's called 'gun deaths' and not 'homicides'. We've averaged 30K gun deaths PER year for the last 20 fucking years. For a country that prides itself on 'getting her done', that's pitiful.

In this country, there weren't even 30,000 homicides per year, let alone 30,000 gun related homicides per year, you "#Grubered", freelance faggot, Odumbo Minion from Arkansas. And suckclown's figures are as preposterous as yours, you "#Grubered", freelance faggot, Odumbo Minion from Arkansas. (FBI)

True, death is death. People die annually from all kinds of causes including guns. People defend themselves with guns others take their own lives with guns and still others are killed by guns as a result of accidental shootings, such as hunting accidents. My original point is not every gun death was the result of a homicide, which is a crime. This debate on guns is constantly going on. Guns are not and shouldn't be banned in this country. No matter how you slice it guns will still find their way into the populous.

You lie again, cocksucker. I said 'gun deaths', not homicides. These are complete number of deaths by gun, murder, suicide, accidental, etc. I even made sure to say 'gun deaths' and not homicide, you no reading cocksucker.

You're the supercilious ass that ignores that in cases of suicide, eliminating one method does not equate to preventing suicide, you "#Grubered", freelance faggot, Odumbo Minion from Arkansas.
Quote:
Suicide
74. The great mass of evidence indicates that the suicide rate is not dependent on the availability of one method and that if, by some means, all firearms could be removed from a society, the rate of suicide would remain largely unchanged. (source)

Furthermore, the CDC reports that each year approximately 16,651 individuals now die by overdosing on "legal", prescription pain killers; yet, no one is running around trying to impose a wholesale ban.
Quote:
Every day, 44 people in the U.S. die from overdose of prescription painkillers, and many more become addicted. If you have pain, learn about the risks of these powerful drugs and about other options for safe, effective pain management. (CDC)
|
And when the CDC factors in illicit drugs and misuse of alcohol, that number climbs to 80,000.
Quote:
In 2010, there were 80,000 drug and alcohol overdose deaths in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ... (source)

So take your supercilious ass and diddle yourself into oblivion, you "#Grubered", freelance faggot, Odumbo Minion from Arkansas.

we put all that effort, money and war into combatting terrorism, yet weve done almost nothing to combat gun deaths. . . seems a bit of an unbalanced response when u compare 74 to 150,000 murdered.
http://readersupportednews.org/opini...by-the-numbers
these numbers are from 2002 up to 2011, during that time frame the numbers are 30 compared to 115,997

You could replace guns with drugs and get a different response from some.
I happen to agree with you and think drugs should be legal too.
