And a majority of mexicans still live in poverty. The government takes the money and does what with it?
Agree, retire and hobby till death.

Good point - AND I wonder how much was REALLY confiscated and will stay within the government, rather than the pockets of the people who executed the bust....all the way up that graft ladder.

Amazing
Wow!
That is really amazing!
Those guys really didn't know what to do with all that money, did they?
Who needs to buy 7 tigers and gold plated guns anyway?
Kind of reminds me of Saddam with his stash of gold plated rifles.

Well, it is hard to launder all that money - you can't put it into most banks (hell, even putting under $10,000 at a time into a US bank will eventually cause someone to wake up.
And you can't CARRY that much cash out of most countries on commercial flights....so what else can you do but stack it up.
It is also becoming increasingly difficult to purchase large $$ items with cash -

The story behind one of the drug bust is that the commanding officers decided too do a lil partying of their own.
They grabbed a few of the drug dealers best party girls some cocaine and had some fun in the cave jacuzzi.
In Mexico the drug dealers offer LE lead or silver there choice.
Just remember one thing the money is US currency not peso's so it's not to hard to figure where the money is coming from.
