In a few weeks my incall community is changing to a platform where the only way you will be able to enter the complex gate & entry doors is by downloading an app. I then give you a code which will unlock the gate/doors.

They are doing away with the callbox/fob system 100%.

Would you be okay with downloading the app to your phone to access the community?

I have never heard of this before, so this is all new to me.

Sure, would make it easier getting in to the property.
I have even visited ladies that had guarded gates & you had to sign in with your ID to get into the property.

Don't the guards log what unit each person is going to in their logbook?

Yes, they would ask what unit #/resident you were visiting and write down your name & license plate # on their visitor log.

Brooke, I've seen a provider that tells me to let her know when I get to the gate and she can open it from her phone. I've never had to do it bc I've always been able to tailgate in. Is this something that you could do if someone didn't want to download the app?

I saw a lady who lived in a upscale community/complex with a similar issue and she simply met me outside. I didn't ask those were her instructions. I know that loses the allure of hiding behind the door in sexy lingerie and I'm also guessing some ladies really don't want to be really seen in daylight. I personally could care less, I run my own business and answer to myself but I could somewhat see how that would scare away most hobbyists in this arena. Personally, I wouldn’t do it, but I would think that you would be able to open the gate from your phone, to let your visitors in.

You need to clarify with site management how they plan that to work.
Your description does not fit what is common.

What is common is that the app on your phone should have be a button for guest admission for you to be able to open gate from your phone.

Also note that it's common for this type of thing to not be able to be downloaded to phone #s that are not on file with site management.

So you're having a dinner party and the guests have incompatible phones?

Or younger generation visitors don't have phones.

It is just another way the property can keep tabs on who is cumming & going.
I would appreciate something like this when booking with ladies that don't like to provide all the needed info in advance & live in upscale high rise buildings. No more holding up traffic at the gate like a dumbass waiting for the young lady to text you back with the code.

Technology is my issue. I am so glad i am retired and do not need to worry about tech.

I have my cell phone, my paper files, and can barely do online banking

For me downloading an app would be problematic.

Umm.. kinda sorta..

Pro's - you can have friends drop by because once they have the code they have it.. unless it changes daily then they have to get a new one from you.

Cons
What information is transmitted BACK to the server via the APP? What data does it collect?

They see your code which could be something like 123#34867 (the 123 is your apartment and the numbers behind the # change daily)

but they see your apartment giving out codes to people or your code is being used by phones NOT owned by you. Cell phones have unique identifiers like the ESN and MAC address of its wifi adapter.

and you have to consider clients who use a "hobby flip phone" which cannot use apps

now if you can open the gates with yours for them then the app is turning your phone into a FOB
