JOE LEGAL vs. JOSE ILLEGAL

You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families
have two parents, two children, and live in California .

Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes
$25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number,
and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".

Ready? Now pay attention...

Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00
per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has
$31,231.00.

Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or
$31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has
$31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for
his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now
has $24,031.00.

Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and
local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has
$31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or
welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per
year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps
and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe
Legal now has $9,631.00.

Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose
Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal
still has $ 31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe Legal
now has $7,231.00.

Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has
$31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc.

Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities,
gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month.

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after
work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe
Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get
a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal's children have an after
school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services,
but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

True in many respects, but check the tax tables. A married couple with two children, and the wife not working, making $52,000/year, with no other deductions would pay about $270 in federal income tax for 2010. State taxes would also be marginal, and in TX there are none. In the long run, if the illegal worker isn't denied benefits, it comes out pretty close. If the illegal worker hits a snag, or is deported, Joe legal still comes out a long way ahead.

i cant believe some people. you bitch about oil . you like to get in your airconditoned gas burning cars and go where ever you like. you want alternative fuels then you bitch about the winmills. ive heard people over and over bitch about the trucks . but all of our hungry fat asses wanna eat dont we me included. and the post mr rakhir put up is dead on only thing else is its not just acertain race doing this . hell its everyone . lot of people manipulate the system. hell i think thats probably just as much work as a normal job. they should be drug tested. anyway i guesss all you tree huggers should just live in a bubble i guess. im a proud extremely hard working american and it makes me angry when people sit around and complain about all our resources what do yall think they are therefor to look at. the combustible engine is relatively new still. it has not been around for a super long time. and if and when they do completely get rid of the combustible engine and replace it with something different everyone can have a whole 100 years again to bitch about it. i would like to see the alternative fuel method drill a well, pull an 80 thousand pound of grocerys down the road, fire up a 6 million pound freight train. this is gonna be hilarious and entertaining to watch. you people that are constantly compaining about things like this obviously know nothing about them.

Nobody complains about the cost of water at a convience store when you can get it out of a water fountain for free and it falls from the sky except South Tx. But complains that Exxon makes pennies on the gallon when it has to be drilled refined and then transported to market. Gov taxes the heck out of it and makes over 59 cents per gallon. Al Gore in the stone age complaining about using to many rocks one day we will run out of them.

BD, I hear your frustration, and it's hell because our country is getting ever more complex, interdependent and technical and we're supposed digest it and make educated decisions with all we have to deal with already.

All of the things we bitch about have to be addressed and dealt with BD and my sad message to you, is that it's gonna get a lot worse.

I love this political rancor and back and forth that occurs and as a result, I've had to make sure to be well versed on the issues at hand. Since the availability via technology and the world wide web, of congressional record and information from industries to the economy and so forth, it's become apparent what has been happening to us and it's not good.

Soon, I will compile all that I have along with all the relevant links, video etc. in the most lucid and succinct presentation that I am capable of, so all of you can see what's there and make your own conclusions and do your own research.

I will also give you all of my information sources and where I get my e-mail alerts with all of those websites both republican and democratic.

Are you aware of what BIG OIL is making in WORLD RECORD PROFIT, and yes I said WORLD RECORD PROFIT during this down turned economy and how much CORPORATE WELFARE they are getting out of your pocket?

sad message to me come on hand. the only reason why its getting worse is because of the way people think. are demands are growing yes. but our industrial technology is amazing. loots of people have no idea what it takes to make something a go. hell our technology is amazing all around. everybodies trying to push the envelope on resurces and other things far to soon. and speaking of technologyim an educated engineer but am horrible at punctuation and typing go figure. thats why i never say to much on here. but i try to get my point across. excuse me.
