I don't watch the duck dynasty show, but isn't it getting a little crazy if when asked, a person can't even express their own feelings on a subject anymore without being destroyed in public? I guess they (the PC Stasi) prefer you lie and say you accept something you don't? Strange isn't it?

On the eccie front, I've seen enough. Therefore, I do wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy as Hell New Year. And if at all possible for 2014, do try not to tear each other apart here on the boards so much. Do some kumbaya humming crap or something like that (albeit hot sex is a better mood enhancer to me). What a ridiculous notion on your part. What if their "own feelings" were that Jews were an inferior race and should be gassed in ovens? Or that blacks were sub-human and mere chattel to be bought and sold? Or that women were of lesser intelligence and lower moral standing, therefore it was acceptable to deny them the right to vote?

People are free to express any opinion they want, no matter how idiotic it may be. They are not free from the consequences of expressing stupid opinions, unpopular opinions, or bigoted opinions. This Duck motherfucker checked off all three of those boxes in one fell swoop. Since The Duck Dynasty Clan are Multi millionaires, their income does not depend on the show. They have always been open about their Christian beliefs for many years. Phil did not say anything equal to any of your examples. He was ask about his views and he recited from The Bible. He also made other statements about treating everyone with respect as we are all God's children ( but this was not reported much). So basicly this is about a small group bitching about someone not agreeing with their agenda and A&E caving in. Education is a wonderful thing and using it is even better.

His freedom of speech rights were not violated. He wasn't arrested or fined and will not be investigated by the government (for his remarks).

However, employers are not going to align themselves with your own personal beliefs.

A&E is full of shit. If they had such a problem with his comments they would drop the show and distance themselves from the whole thing. Duck Dynasty reruns have been playing every single night for the last week. Its a cash cow and all this has done is drive up ratings even higher. You walk into any Walmart, Academy, Bass Pro, Cabelas, Target and they have Duck Dynasty merchandise all over the place because it sells. I'm so sick of political correctness and the hypocrite assholes trying to enforce it.

And A&E is surprised by his answers. What did they expect, they knew what they were getting and their beliefs when they started the show. A&E just caving into pressure.
