Exclamation Another SCHOOL shooting

Breaking news another shooting with many injuries and deaths in South Florida. Student/suspect in custody. It's a shame that even the kids can't be safe when they are in school.

As soon as our governments really take protecting our children as seriously as the schools that protect their own, these shootings will stop.

LE just announced minutes ago there's 17 victims (fatalities) so far...my Heavens, there are no words. My heart is breaking for these families and this community.

Children being gunned down in a school again.....what's it going to take to prevent these senseless massacres from taking place? I'm so saddened....and angry.

You start by blaming the parents.

These threads tend to morph into political debates

You're right, they do and it's stupid.
It's not Trumps' fault, it's not Obama's fault, it's an undercurrent in society that has been building up for quite some time. It's a combination of a lot of factors that someone can be so out of touch with reality that they commit such an unfathomable crime.

There were also 2 other school shootings within 24-48 hours of each other about 2 weeks ago.

How can anyone, anywhere be safe in a society where guns proliferate to the degree they do in the U.S.?

How can anyone be safe when our society allows crazy people to roam freely among us?

This guy was identified as a threat by the school administrators, yet he wasn't investigated by law enforcement, or sent in for a mental health evaluation.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...ent/338874002/

At some point in the not too distant future, our society will get tired of these kind of deranged people, and allow our police, social services, and courts the latitude to take preventative measures when someone is clearly a threat.

No, I'm not suggesting the police be allowed to lock up everyone who owns guns, or makes bad jokes, but one of the most common denominators in these mass shootings is that witnesses often say things like "yeah, we all knew there was something wrong with him". If one of my classmates joked about shooting up places, I'd sure as hell want him checked out.

Remember Minority Report?

PreCrime is closer to reality than you think.

A) I want balance on both. Citizens should not be deprived of either right without a compelling reasons. Making threats is a compelling reason.

B) The First Amendment doesn't mean what you seem to think it means. There is no way that making threats to shoot up innocent people can be considered "protected speech".

I nominate you to go door to door and tell everyone to give up their guns, or else.
