Default Go figure? Wolf signs law legalizing switchblades in PA.

https://www.ammoland.com/2022/11/pen...#axzz7jsrJpsBB

Well, whoda thought Wolf would sign anything pro self defense, let alone legalizing such dangerous things as "Automatic" knives, you know, knives that can stab someone 300 times a second?

It also legalizes those nasty "Gravity" knives which Nazi Germany invented to get around the laws preventing the issuance of switchblades to paratroopers.

Wolf is sponsoring PRO NAZI WEAPONS!

Of course, the law was moot because everybody can carry a fully automatic machine gun in your car, or on your person in public already in PA.

But it is good to see all the inner city yutes can give up their dangerous pistols and go back to the days of "West Side Story" and just knife each other in good sport again.

Give a shit, I have a 3 shot 7.5 barreled Mossberg 500 any other weapon, IE, stockless shotgun with a short barrel and a front vertical grip, and its legal to sit on the front seat of my vehicle, but, I can't wear the Boker switchblade I've had in my drawer for 20 years, even though I have legitimate needs to have one, (working with rope tools, come alongs, blocks and tackle, etc.).

Sure as hell, I just dug it out, and its going on the belt as of now, I'm not worried about waiting till 1/2/2023 to be legal.

I also have a few of the collectible post WW2 German gravity knives, which just look cool............. Especially when its attached with the lanyard.

Freedom is a good thing, I just can't believe it passed the house and senate with only one no vote, and that Wolf signed it with no public outcry.

Your sarcasm is well noted, but gravity knives really don't do anything for me. Glad you enjoy them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this doesn't take off the prohibition on automatic daggers, right? Just automatics in general?

If that's correct my optimism is a bit more muted. Then again, carrying dual-edge isn't my style anyway but I do want the option.

Ths brought up a few more relevant points, Devo. Not a fan of the potential for local ordinances to be stricter

The law was enacted at the time because "street gangs use switchblades".... the only 2 I know of that did that were the Sharks & the Jets.

There is a good case for state laws pre-empting local laws, which, invalidates the lower law.

Case in point, the fact that Pittsburgh gets every new Evil weapon law tossed before it can be implemented.

And, I'll take my chances in a local court, screw them.

As for the Stillettos, I don't think the law specifies blade type, just spring activated, spring assisted, gravity, etc.

Those Gravity knives aren't particularly any more lethal, but if you work with rope, they are great tool, a knot picking pointed tool and a blade, obviously.

And, much like a shotgun being pumped, they make a sound like nothing else in the world.

Once you hear it, you'd recognize it easily again.

Main thing is rarity, and collectability, I think it was the only big lot of these I have ever seen come into the USA, Bundeswehr surplus.

They were a weapon of choice of a mafia guy in Pittsburgh in the 70s and 80s. Nick the Blade.
