Because we aren't talking about Dems vs Rep, but people voting in republican primaries who support Trump vs the other candidates. But you make a good point, I should keep in mind that there are states that have open primaries, so people could be voting in either primary.

In both cases, they lack a proper education. Whether there is an absence of an education, or just not a very good one, the difference is virtually meaningless; both groups (on average) are prone to making decisions not based on high level analysis, but more on how they feel.
