Default Oh My, from far left Slate

What are those who still think masks worked for Covid going to say now when far left Slate publishes this:

The latest, highest quality evidence does not show that masks effectively protect against COVID-19

“Wearing masks in the community probably makes little or no difference,” the review authors concluded of their work comparing masking with non-masking to prevent influenza or SARS‐CoV‐2. What’s more, even for health care workers providing routine care, “there were no clear differences” between medical or surgical masks versus N95s.

They're going to read the article and cherrypick what they want like you did. Which the article predicts after it discusses the limitations of the Cochrane Reviews which the article refers to as the gold standard but also acknowledges that there is a lack of high quality studies. Going so far to identify that its "garbage in, garbage out" as far as studies and conclusions. And that this will give proponents and skeptics cover to rely on their pre-existing conclusions.

Your readers would not be out of line wondering how much of the article was read and understood before it was aggregated

Wearing a mask to protect you you from Covid is like putting up a chain link fence to protect you from mosquitoes.
