Rick Perry -- Socialist!!
Well, now we have irrefutable evidence that Rick Perry is a socialist and doesn't love America. He refused to put his hand over his heart when the Pledge of Allegiance was said:
Because I'm assured by every Republican I meet that the same charges that were leveled against President Obama had nothing to do with the fact that he's black, I'm sure we'll hear about this non-stop on Faux News for the next three weeks. Also, if he's elected, we'll be getting e-mails about this once a week or more for the next two years.
Right? It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that he's black, right?

I'm not going to gig Perry for not putting his hand over his heart. All you have to do is watch the debates to tell how he's handling himself. It seems as if his history isn't much better. If you look to Perry's left you can tell that Ron Paul is standing next to him and he also doesn't have his hand over his heart. The thing worries me about Perry is who he is going to serve if becomes the president.

Ron Paul is neither holding his hand over his heart or even looking at the flag (on Perry's left).

He may not be but he's still hands down the best candidate running for the GOP, the most honest, has the voting record to go with it, and will give Americans the best chance for prosperity.

The point isn't that he is doing neither. I don't care one way or another. His action doesn't make him less American or any some such.
Just like a picture of Pres. Obama (in a similar situation) with his hands in front of him means nothing.

Ron Paul knows the people are getting screwed, the man just wants to level the playing field and I can't blame him for that.

If Ron Paul was so honorable, wouldn't he eschew the Republican Party altogether and simply run as a Libertarian?

He does not hide his views. There is nothing dishonorable about running in a party that has a lot of people that share his views and has the support that gives him a chance in the general election.

Perry served - honorably - in the military; less can be said of Obama and Clinton (who dispised the military).
BTW; I don't think Perry is a Conservative; he is a Chamber of Commerce Republican, in the Bush model.
And Romney with his hand over his heart doesn't impress me. He is a father of five boys all military age when the Iraq/Afghanistan war was in full tilt, all of whom were pro war, but none served. IMO to have five boys in one family (a familly that was urging others into war) and not one serves is a disgrace !
At least Clinton and the other 1960s anti-war protesters were yelling stop the war and refusing to join; compared to the Romney's who were yelling "USA, USA" into war but not serving.

But there is something dishonorable about running in a party that has a lot of people who despise your views simply because without party support, you have absolutely no chance at all.

The same thing could be said about both parties. There is such a broad range of opinions that there is no way a candidate can support them all. If this is the only issue you can criticize Ron for he is in good shape. His fiscal policies and belief in a small federal government are supported by a broad range of Republicans.
