favorite cocktail?
Just recently returned from three grueling weeks in Asia, stopping in New York at my favorite club to partake of the near perfect Martini; gin, of course, and shaken.
Of course, this evening, sitting on my deck with my bare feet up on the rail with a frosty bottle of Dos Equis equates equally with my trendy New York Martini.....
So what is your favorite relaxation cocktail?
And for the non-alcohol drinkers, what is your favorite relaxation beverage?
I have to thank Peach for turning me on to Bubble Tea!
And I cannot remember for the life of me who the Lady is on here that drinks Jameson and orange juice; another drink I now have tried and love....

I'm a big fan of Powers, George Dickel, Blanton's, or Johnny Black (or above) on the rocks. Non-alchoholic is low carb Monster.

Really dude, Jack, in my opinion, is one of the worst whiskeys ever made that doesn't come in a plastic bottle. My feeling generally is that well marketed liquors are frequently some of the least quality liquors for the price.

Sitting back in a bar waiting on friend, Makers and coke, doing shots with people, lemon drop made with peach stoli, I want the girl drunk but still walking, feed her Vegas bombs. Stopping by for a drink after work, Mexican Martinis, feeling alone and down, frozen margarita with a floater of chamborg

You asked for opinions. I gave you one.
If you are going to attack the responses that you solicited, then perhaps you should not solicit them at all.

Quite welcome! What flavor did you try?
As for me, a good vodka with pineapple is wonderful!
Sky, or UV Vodka.
I have very simple tastes!
Although, I do not drink often at all.

Sorry Mokoa, I was just spouting off at the mouth while drunk. I'm sorry if I caused any offense. In any case, I do highly recommend George Dickel instead of Jack as an inexpensive Tennessee whiskey. Try it out and let me know what you think. I'm a big whiskey fan. Have been for years.

I have to agree here for the most part. The "well marketed liquors" are some of the most over rated items in a liquor store or bar. Crown Royal is another one that comes to mind. I LOVE good whiskey, but if it was Crown or Beer, I am going with beer.
Cuervo and many other tequilas are about half tequila half vodka and they ad coloring to the dark ones. If it doesn't say 100% Agave (sometimes Agave Azul, or a variant on this phrase) then it isn't truly tequila. The 100% Agave tequilas with color are from being aged in oak barrels.
And another thing, if you are mixing a whiskey with coke why spend $20 or more? You can not taste the subtle flavors of the whiskey when the drink is 2/3 or more coca cola. Mixing a beautiful whiskey like Maker's Mark with coke is such a waste of money.
And another thing "_____ and coke" does not a cocktail make. I believe a cocktail should consist of 3 or more ingredients or be a martini. Otherwise it is simply a "drink".
If I am drinking a true "cocktail" it is usually a Manhattan.
2 oz Rye or Bourbon (I use Maker's Mark)
1/4 oz sweet vermouth
2 dashes of bitters
Ice
2 cherries
Build the drink in a highball glass, dump the contents into a shaker, then dump back in the glass. Serve on ice, garnish with the cherries.

OK then, by that definition I would prefer the Harvey Wallbanger.

I have had George Dickel. It is a good whiskey just not my preference.

I am finding over the years that the simpler the mix, the better the drink. Watched a bartender mix a drink the other day and lost track of the amount of ingredients she was adding!
