Rates Jumping
The recent spike in rates threatens to eliminate a decent share of hobbyists. Providers charging $400 and more used to be once-in-a-lifetime fantasy material. That has dramatically changed in the last year or so. Prices are charging upward. On one hand I understand that a provider prefers to see fewer friends and not harm her income, and on the other hand a large segment of potential friends is being excluded. I've been in this hobby long enough to see trends, and this is the fastest escalation in prices I have witnessed. Will this trend slow down or reverse itself? I notice that some reliable and good-looking providers have kept their rates down, while others have dramatically raised their rates. Can someone explain what's happening?
