600,000 Texans to lose drivers license
Because of unpaid traffic tickets
An interesting socio economic issue. Most unpaid tickets are held by poor or low income people.
This will only make it harder for them and contribute to a downward spiral.
...which anyone who got behind on credit card payments and accumulated outrageous extra fees can relate to.
Yet we are a nation of laws and law abiding citizens.

Poor lfe choices result in sub-optimal outcomes.
For instance, while I did alright in life, there are resons why I never became the brain surgeon my mother wanted or the Astro naught I thought of as a kid.

That will not stop them from driving and it sure seems you have to really be special for a traffic stop to happen in DFW these days. It amazes me how many 20 somethings do not have their driving license, many with violations for that, driving anyway.
I would put them on the side of the road picking up trash or some other civic duty to work it off. They would have to pay off and complete the driving requirements before they get off civic duty.

No not really. Unpaid Tickets are held by those that have no regard for Traffic Laws. If they did they wouldn't have gotten the Ticket in the first place. Driving isn't a right it's a privilege, those that don't respect that privilege don't deserve to share the road with those that do.

Id like to see some demographics or any kind of study supporting your argument Levi.
Seems like you’re saying people who break the law don’t deserve to share access to public venues (like roads or, ahem,;”buildings”) with those that do.
A traffic ticket is a criminal charge, yeah?

No that's not exactly what I am saying. A person can be a convicted Felon but have a perfect driving record and won't lose his driving privileges.

Unfortunate that TWK has devolved into a poster that behaves like a BOT. He used to have some decent input.
Now it is just "if you say so" hundreds of times a week....and mostly not even used correctly.
Not much use anymore, except to put him on "ignore".

... I've never been one to offour criticism or point fingers,
but - PAY THE MONEY!
... You and Lucas and the other Texas lads surely need to
"PAY YER FAIR SHARE!" ...
.. I'd hate to see you fellows get sent to the hoosgow
for failure to pay!
600,000 Texans is A LOT.
