Still, the agreement marks at least a temporary victory for McCarthy, the new Speaker who has defied the odds in holding his GOP conference together on partisan messaging bills, but has yet to be tested on major, must-pass legislation that can win the backing of Democrats — particularly with the economy on the line.

That’s from your link. Looks like you and DG don’t actually read your links. Or mebbe you do. You just don’t understand them!!

I agree, both sides caved on important issues or should i say compromised

the republican side caved by giving 3xs the spending to biden as the conservatives wanted

biden caved because the democrats wanted to add more taxes which the republicans absolutely demanded none

its as it almost always is... give alittle take alittle

no winners or losers except us as usual

Hey man, if that's what helps you sleep at night cherry pick whatever you want.

He got relatively little despite the bluster and the bills get paid. I'm loving it.

We'll both be dead before that thing you're waiting for that can't be stopped. It's ok.

Glad your hope springs eternal, though

"Top leaders in both parties reached a long-sought deal on Saturday to avoid an unprecedented government default, announcing an agreement on a plan to lift the debt ceiling immediately and apply new caps on federal spending in the name of curbing deficits."

and the Dems had to cave on their favorite thing .. more taxes

No. it won't. the one thing i fault the GOP for is abandoning their mantra of fiscal responsibility long ago. this of course is the fault of the DNC for their "reparations" for their hate mongering and causing the Civil War, segregation, the KKK and Jim Crow.

their solution to their own crime was to "re-enslave" the blacks into a permanent welfare state and called it "The Civil Rights Act"

brilliant! and evil.

the GOP decided "well as long as we get ours, we'll let them get theirs. it's only fiat money anyway, just print more"

biggest mistake of the GOP ever.

18 Rino Senate Republicans voted for the $1.7 Trillion Omnibus Bill. Now the Republicans are touting they held the liberals to the fire on this.

Total BS political theater, their all in it together.

Hearing Speaker McCarthy’s soon to be finalized agreement on the debt limit will clawback $400 MILLION from the CDC “Global Health Fund” that sends money overseas to countries like China.

Here’s a few other countries that will no longer get access to these taxpayer dollars:

Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burma, Cambodia, China, Ivory Coast, DRC, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Malawi, Mail, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Also on the chopping block is nearly $1.5 BILLION from the CDC’s “Vaccine Distribution and Monitoring Program.”

That's Marge on her knees looking for change that fell between the cushions and hoping she has enough for bus fare.

The federal budget should be cut (actually cut, not this cutting future increases bs) by at least 50%. The government was NEVER intended to be the country’s largest employer, it’s completely ridiculous.
