building a rapport

If your a Newbie Friendly Provider, do you try to build a rapport with someone??

Would that be considered 'screening'?

I always like an introductory note (especially from newbies), and I enjoy a bit of banter, but for the most part, I establish rapport with conversation at the beginning of the date as opposed to before we meet. Either way, I do like to get to know someone a bit before moving on to other things; I have never kissed a stranger.

I'd say getting a feel for someone's personality is definitely a part of screening for me. I try not to see anyone I'm wildly incompatible with, because we'd both end up disappointed. It doesn't replace the basic screening info I request, though.
