Is this a major victory for North Korean Dictator Kim Jung-un? Probably from his view point. He can have a huge parade and celebration about defeating the United States.
And, unless China steps up to the plate and puts a muzzle on Kim, he will continue to build his Nuclear and Missle program. Then, when he has a Nuclear tipped missle aimed at Shanghia, maybe they will decide enough is enough.
In the mean time, the US has about 28,000 troops in South Korea. Maybe it's time we reconsidered our priorities.

then the new president of South Korea is an idiot who is playing with fire .. nuclear fire actually. unless he got a 100% absolute guarantee from China they can rein in North Korea then .. if .. North Korea ever does go rogue and launch a nuke missile at South Korea he's going to have a lot of blood on his hands.
China most likely does not have a system like THAAD and if they do, they better have it near North Korea to keep their lapdog in check. I think the US can install THAAD on it's bases no fucking matter what the South Koreans say. and they should if only because we have easy 30,000 troops there. what's SK gonna do? Attack a US base to remove it. never gonna happen.
China does not want that system in South Korea. we should keep it there just because they don't want it there. it prevents them from launching missiles themselves. at Taiwan, Japan (who should ask for the THAAD system) and the Philippines and elsewhere.
we have that system there now. keep it there. South Korea can thank us later after we knock down a scud missile with or without a nuke in it. a chem weapon is just as dangerous without the mass destruction, just the mass death.
Putin doesn't want the THAAD system in Europe for the same reason. we should put that system there .. again just because they don't want it there. Putin will find out that Trump will do what is in the best interests of the US and our allies in Europe .. even if they are a bunch of pansies not paying their share of NATO and they aren't. they can also thank us later for saving their asses.
Israel is smart enough to want this system, just like they wanted the earlier Patriot system that helped defend against missile attacks. they may also be the only ones who could make a system on their own. so be it. since Obama handed nukes to Iran on a silver platter .. and he did .. it's not if, it's when they try to nuke Israel. if they don't have a comparable system then we have one and they will allow it on their soil.
