Albany Area
I know this has been brought up before...but after escorts.com was shut down there is a legitimate void in the capital district for providers and mongers.
How difficult would it be to separate the region from the Western part of NY state, where the majority of action in the upstate section comes from?
I'm from the Hudson Valley so an Albany section would be very helpful to me and the mongers from north of NYC to Albany as well.
Upstate NY is different from Western NY state.
I think providers would come out of the woodwork and advertize and it would help hobbyists from siphoning thru the majority of reviews from the West to find a few realistic ones from the Capital district.

as I. give iggy what he wanted after ASPD was unplugged. Albany and Hudson Valley would be better without the over shadow of the west of Albany.
If done, it could be better.
skudd,
send StC a note with links. Hudson Valley I think would grow if not lost in the mass of cuse, roch, and buf stuff. And i don't think it would be dead like NYC is on the board.
This should have been done a few years after ASPD went down.

For us west of I 81, Rochester, Buffalo and NF Canada is not relative. Dedicated sections for both makes tons of sense.

well a part of Canada would work. I'm not sure what goes on at Kingston and other near boarder towns.

Why don't they rename both New York areas? One could be NY(East-West) along I90 and the other could be NY(North-South) along I87 which could also pick up NYC until that area starts getting busy. Both areas would then have about the same amount of highway, and the Albany would be in both area until it makes sense to move them into just one area.

That would kill upset for upstate. But upset seems to be mostly a Rochester deal. only a few from cuse and buf seem part of upset ny. yet not Albany at all.
ok upstate would have ta go darn it. But southern tier not covered with the use of I90.
And NYC term upstate is the Hudson Valley to Albany.
mmmm so let the west keep upstate and let the Valley take a new name. Maybe we can snag a few lost providers looking for what upstate really means HA!

dear admin CC and sir StC
my quote is very true, west NY from Syracuse to Buffalo is very unlike the Hudson Valley and Albany. Its like sayin Texas and California are peas in a pod. please can we end the suffering of both by a split. keep the southern tier with cuse, roch and buf. Free the Valley from us. Yet not chain it down with NYC and the Island.
I say Free the Valley.
thanks

NY East-West (Buffalo, Bativia, Rochester, Syracuse, Rome, Utica) could also include the southern tier expressway (I86) joining in Jamestown,Corning, Ithaca, Elmira, Endicott, and Binghamton.
NY North-South (Plattsburgh, Lake George, Troy, Schenectady, Albany, Hudson Valley, Ossining and NYC). Give NYC & Long Island their own area when they pick up
with postings.

Where is Iggy...he used to post on another board as well. But yeah man.. Every one in NYC considers upstate ...the HV and Albany.. perhaps north toward Canada... but not west.
The western part of this state is not even on our radar. We might as well drive to Delaware or DC its the same distance!
There are thousands of mongers in the Albany area very frustrated...not quite as bad in the Hudson valley because many adopted the NYC, NNJ, CNJ board bestgfe. But Albany is in a twilight zone..with tons of BP ads and providers that dont know where to advertize. Admin. divide it and it will GROW. You would be amazed.

I agree with the territorial division, with perhaps the following names:
Western and Central NY
Capital Region and Hudson Valley

Now THAT makes good sense!!!
But don't forget there is desire from those in Long Island for them to have their own area too!
