How would being arrested impact your professional career?
Hope this is the right place, not a legal question per se.
I realize the answer to this is highly depending on your field. Obviously a judge or a politician is going to have a much more difficult time than others. A low skill laborer might have a tougher time as there are many candidates (especially in this economy). But is anyone familiar with how adversely an arrest for solicitation impacts you on the job market? Does the level of impact diminish as job skill level goes up? I'm dipping my toe in the hobby but this always weighs on my mind. It seems there are alot of programs for first time offenders and in many cases the case is dismissed with a good lawyer. I realize there are many precautions you can take to not get caught, but there is no guarantee.
Some states have expungement, some don't. Some background checks are greater than others. Curious if anyone has any experience.

A bank president in my state recently had the misfortune of that happening, however he chose a random unknown backpage girl and it bit him in the ass.
Though nothing is foolproof ..If you go with highly reviewed ladies from your area and do your research you should have no problems. Most that have a lot to lose dont mind going the extra mile doing there homework (asking other guys on this board, using p411 etc)
The best way to avoid this misfortune is to prevent it from happening in the first place using your big head
Good luck to you

It all depends. If you are your own boss, then are you going to fire yourself? It also depends on the policy of the company one works for. Some places might care; others may not. It might not impact your current employment, but could impact future employment via background check. It also varies from state to state. I'm sure for the most part there are some diversion programs for 1st time offenders that essentially keeps it off a background check. As with anything dealing with the law, your best bet is a good lawyer.

Thanks. It is rather open ended.
I am currently my own boss, but I'm just curious what happens if the worst happens and I ever find myself needing to apply for a position in the free market. Bigger places (i.e. national chains) seem to have more stringent requirements and search everything. Smaller places just convictions. It may come down to the whim (and possibly the gender) of the HR person. The state I reside in has no expungement process, so if it happens there is no getting rid of it unless the law changes, and given our legislature I'm not holding my breath. 3rd party background checks by law are not allowed to report on arrests older than 7 years. I've done some research, but it's theoretical. It depends on so much there is no 'answer'. If you are uniquely qualified for a position it might not matter at all. I'm sure it's better than a theft charge or a felony charge, but I'm not sure of the barrier. I would imagine there is some real life experience on this board given it's size and was curious.

no problemo with work
As long as I did it off clock the supes wouldn't care.
My wife would kill me or make me useless
for another woman.
The sting ads are kinda self-evident.
The providers are in the same creek.
Most will have no problem meeting you
somewhere public to get a feel for each other.
Call your prospect at odd hours.
Working girls are usually reachable 24/7.
Cops don't like long hours or late nights.
Trust your instinct.
The cops are actually the least of your concerns.
The girls who run a honeypot scam are dangerous.
You think everything is going good then
BAM- the door flies open and some thugs
look to mug you or worse.
Great, now I have to explain what I was doing
at a motel, and why I shot two creeps dead.
Not good.

If I got arrested, it would surely mean the end of my career. We get background checks done regularly. But I also own my own business. It would mean that I would have the almost 60 hours a week I spend on work-related stuff to work on my own projects.

As far as impacting your job, it may run a gamet. You may loose your job you may not. But one thing is certain you'll be severly embarrassed.

I tend to only see well reviewed girls. My biggest fear is that one gets "turned". The harder they screen and the more paranoid they are, the better I feel. My theory is that the very well established providers, at the top of their game, have too much to lose by cooperating. The have build a business over years, and will protect it. Furthermore, they are the least likely to get caught.
Any thoughts... has anyone gotten caught up by a provider who got busted and then cooperated?

I own my company... so really wouldnt affect me. No family that I care for... so no worry of embarassment and im happily single so no worries of the wrath of the SO. Still... i dont look good in orange so ill stick with avoiding getting arrested.
I think for others it would indeed depend on their type of job. While some wouldnt care what people do "off the clock"... others like LE being caught, someone in political field... or anything that would bring horrid media attention... well yea.. they would be worldly fawked.
