Garland is a bad place to have a shotout with the cops.
The story's still unfolding.
FBI is on it.

not defending Radical Islam, but that was a stupid way to demonstrate support for free speech and American values.. basically a copycat of Charlie Hebdo, and knowing cartoon caricatures of Mohammed would piss off many.. what was there to achieve? goad a couple of Muslims to react, hire $10,000 in security so you could shoot them down before they got you first?

There's gotta be more to this...there was a $10,000 first prize for the winning drawing. It's like...the woman who originated this had a seriously stupid and dangerous agenda.

I'm all for freedom of speech but this was like yelling "fire" in a crowded theater.

It's a business for Geller -- nothing more, nothing less. As long as she gets publicity and puts some bucks in the bank, she's good with that. Other people get hurt? She couldn't care less . . .

My question to the city was why did you book this event knowing that all it was going to do was piss off the radical extremists. There was no way in hell this was going to go off without an issue.

WE have first amendment rights. Suck it up. Defend it. Otherwise all freedom is lost.

We are the only Nation left who still TRYS to defend it. BUT the LIBERAL PROGRESSIVES kill it. TOO MANY LIBERALS in our nation today all whom have no idea what they are destroying in the name of "don't hurt someones feelings". They will be the first who fall face down crying like babies when it affects them.

I am so proud of our Texas heritage- take the bastards down when they mess with us. I am so proud; even our traffic officers are trained as well as our SWAT to hit the target.

DON"T MESS WITH OUR CONSTITUTION!

What was the point of having a "cartoon contest" of a religious figure, of whom the religion does not want the figure depicted in any likeness? It's a total lack of respect for their religion...all in the name of FREE SPEECH... Other than exercising the right to free speech, aren't there other ways to do that besides knowing that if you do have this contest, it may bring harm (it did) to some of those involved?

Had that officer not shot those men, lots of people could have died. Over a CARTOON CONTEST?!?
There's freedom of speech, and there's FUCKING STUPID. That crazy bitch knew EXACTLY what she was doing...it's extremism in reverse.

The whole event was bait....draw out the radicals.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for these two low level, unorganized, untrained idiots.

Two brainwashed drones took the bait.

Being politically correct eats away at free speech every day. Just because one does not agree with the content, does not mean its wrong to say it.

Does it cross the line to not agree with the content when you are knowingly putting lives in danger?

In other words, do common sense and free speech never collide?
