Cowboy Fans....Brace yourselves for 2014.
In the NFC EAST.........Giants can't move the ball (their offense looks a mess) and Dallas can't stop anyone (their defense looks...well, it looks a whole lot like last year's abortion, doesn't it?) And that kick coverage team....damn, don't get me started...... Could both teams be on a collision course for matching 5-11 records? Probably not. Odds are the Eli and the Giants will figure it out.....however it's more likely Dallas won't....or can't.
Take a peak at the schedule: The Boys easily could be 1-5 by the time you're enjoying a bite of that first Fletcher's corn dog at Fair Park (ie: see Oct 12 visit to.....ta da! Seattle!! Wow...won't that be fun?)
Numbers don't Lie:
Under the 25 year ownership of Jerry Jones so far, the JJ Cowboys (214-186) have already managed to lose 24 more games than Landry did in his 29 years of coaching them (250-162). Damn....how's that possible? Landry had to take an expansion team and build from the ground up....starting with cast-offs and scraps. Jones bought the team and was awarded the number pick in the draft (Aikman). Tom was never given such an advantage as that. Anyways.....
Figuring in playoff records, as well, the great Tom Landry finished his career with a +92 games, win/loss. Not bad.
Being a cumulative +32 games (over .500) to date, Jones & Company would need to go 60 and 4 over the next four seasons to match that same win/loss ratio over the same period of time.
Perhaps I'm going out on a limb here.....but I'd say it's a safe bet that isn't going to happen.
In fact, it's a stronger bet that Jerry will easily reach 200 losses as an owner AND GM before he ever matches, let alone passes, Landry's (and the Cowboy's GM for those first 29 years, Tex Schramm's) 250 W's.

Interesting stats, Chateau... I'm starting to think it was Jimmy's brains and not Jerry's for their early success.

5-11 is a safe bet. Redball and Romo will cost them a couple of games they should win and the defense/special teams will cost them the rest. They have drafted O-linemen..now they need to beef up the defense. Maybe they will be competitive in 4 years but by then Romo and Murray will be done and hopefully Jerry too. Maybe we can get a franchise QB and RB in the draft before then and hopefully Jerry will check out.

It WAS Jimmy, not Jerry. Fortunately Jimmy had a win because losing sucks atitude and a discipline code, and drafted a QB with a cannon for an arm and the same competitive drive. These current guys are all mananged mediocrity. I feel sorry for guys like Witten, though, who could have made Canton if they'd played with some winners.
Even Johnny Football would have broken this monotony.

Not to worry, Witten will make the Hall of Fame.
Notre Dame annually produces quality tight ends, so when Witten retires, that hole can easily be filled in the draft, or trade up to draft him.
As long as the stadium is filled to capacity, the team will be Jones' cash cow. I really don't think anyone has the money to buy the franchise.

I think we surprise this year.
It's all about staying healthy. The offense looks unstoppable.
We were stripped of talent last year with all the injuries and i actually think this year's defnese will actually be better.
They are playing a lot of guys on st that will not be on the team when the season starts so i'm not so worried about that.
Giants looks as bad at pass protection as they were last year and their defense keeps getting older.

Saints fans love the Cowboys. They were the first team to talk to Drew when he was a free agent form the Chargers and passed. Two year ago, they blamed Ryan for the defense. He took the Saints from third worst defense to third best.
Drew scored an NFL record of 40 first down against the Cowboys last year and over 600 yards. Yes, the Saints love the Cowboys because their our bitch.
Looking forward to September 28th. Who Dat.
I used to be a Cowboys fan when Landry was the coach.

Are you serious?
The Cowboys are going to the playoffs.
The playoff tickets were already given out to the season ticket holders!

Yeah, that one shocked the sh*t out of me when they arrived. Then I read there was no billing unless playoff games became reality. That's safe....my guess is it was as close to seeing the real thing as they were going get.

The girls were still the most overrated/overhyped team when Landry was coach.

The team had class under Landry. It became a half way house when Switzer became the coach.

Lol @ 60-4.
He could hire Belichek, Parcells, the Harbaughs, and Pete Carroll and STILL wouldn't pull that off. Too many scrubs on the roster, and Garrett's a lame duck idiot. This season's going to be rough.

Class? If you recall the book and movie North Dallas Forty paints a far different picture. The white house only was present during Barry's tenure? Nope.
